Stellar Virtual was founded in 2019 with one school in Texas. We serve parents of K-12 students, unhappy with their current school, or needing an at-home/flexible learning environment. Today, Stellar Virtual has grown to six schools across three states: Texas, Arizona, and Indiana. Stellar Virtual is committed to going above and beyond for our virtual families.

Position Overview
Stellar Virtual is seeking a dynamic, highly skilled Secondary Teacher specializing in Electives to join our dedicated team in Indiana and teach students in grades 6-12. This role involves delivering engaging and diverse elective courses, which may include Fine Arts, Health/P.E., Technology, World Languages, and other electives based on school needs and student interests. As a teacher with Stellar Virtual, you will be instrumental in fostering a positive, interactive virtual classroom where students are encouraged to explore new subjects, develop critical skills, and prepare for future academic and career success.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, interactive instruction aligned with Indiana state standards for elective subjects in a virtual environment.
- Develop and implement strategies to encourage active student participation and engagement in a virtual setting.
- Use technology and multimedia resources to create an inclusive, collaborative online learning experience.
- Create, customize, and adapt lessons and curriculum to meet diverse student needs, accommodating different learning styles and promoting differentiated instruction.
- Design and administer assessments to evaluate student progress and comprehension of course material.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback, supporting students in achieving academic growth.
- Maintain regular communication with students, parents, and team members regarding student progress, course requirements, and academic or behavioral concerns.
- Stay current with instructional practices, virtual teaching methodologies, and state educational standards for elective subjects. Attend virtual faculty meetings, training, and professional development sessions.
- Use student performance data to identify trends, track progress, and adjust instructional approaches to ensure each student’s success.
- Proctor state testing exams with students during in-person events, which may require periodic travel within the State of Indiana.
- Ensure all instruction aligns with Indiana state standards and Stellar Virtual policies.
- Participate in regular training and development sessions.
- Stay updated with best practices in virtual teaching and emerging trends in elective education.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
- Experience in teaching diverse elective subjects, such as Fine Arts, Technology, Health/P.E., or World Languages.
- Experience with blended and differentiated learning models in a virtual setting.
- Knowledge of virtual classroom management techniques and tools to maximize student engagement.
- Proficiency with virtual learning platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, Zoom, or similar), and a willingness to learn new digital tools as needed.
- Ability to create and adapt curriculum to meet the unique needs of virtual students.
- Proficiency in online learning platforms (e.g., BrightThinker, Google Classroom) and tools (e.g., Zoom, Classlink).
- Strong understanding of best practices in virtual instruction and engagement strategies.
- Strong classroom management skills in a virtual setting.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect with students and families.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and backgrounds.
Education & Certification Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Elective Subjects, or a related field is required;
- A master’s degree is preferred.
- A valid Indiana State Teaching License in Elective Subjects (Grades 6-12).
