Position OverviewThe Secondary Teacher of Business Technology at Stellar Virtual's Arizona program(s) delivers dynamic and engaging instruction in professional communication skills to secondary students. Arizona Virtual Tech Academy is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher to deliver dynamic, standards-aligned instruction in a virtual environment. The ideal candidate will engage students in real-world applications of technical knowledge, foster career readiness, and provide personalized support in a variety of CTE pathways.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, project-based lessons that align with Arizona state CTE standards.
- Facilitate virtual instruction through the academy’s learning management system (LMS), using tools such as Zoom, Google Classroom, and other digital platforms.
- Develop and assess individual student learning plans, providing differentiated support to ensure mastery of CTE content.
- Incorporate technology and industry-relevant skills to prepare students for certification and future career pathways.
- Communicate consistently with students, parents, and stakeholders regarding progress, needs, and strategies for improvement.
- Provide office hours and one-on-one support to ensure student success in the virtual environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to remain current in both teaching and technical knowledge.
- Collaborate with other faculty and staff to align the CTE curriculum and ensure integration with core subjects.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and participation, meeting compliance with state and federal regulations.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
- Proven experience in virtual instruction and/or working with digital tools for education delivery.
- Strong knowledge of Arizona CTE standards and an understanding of various industry certifications.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to build rapport with students in a remote learning setting and motivate them toward career success.
- Experience teaching in one or more CTE pathways, such as Information Technology, Health Science, Business, or Engineering.
- Familiarity with career and technical student organizations (CTSOs) and the role they play in student career development.
- Industry certifications in relevant CTE fields.
Education & Certification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- Valid Arizona Secondary Teaching Certificate with a CTE endorsement.
