Do you have a passion for data-driven strategies? We’re looking for a Search Engine Optimization Manager (SEO Manager) to join us at Thinkific.
As the SEO Manager for Thinkific, you’ll be responsible for the SEO strategy for our self-serve business and provide SEO guidance for our entire website ecosystem. Your role extends beyond content strategy and comprises consultation on both technical SEO and product SEO.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Web, you’ll be asked to consult on campaigns, extend your expertise into properties like the Leap, Plus, and SEM, and generally be an engine for continuous improvement within the Growth organization. You’ll be measured on your ability to bring qualified traffic to our websites and increase and defend high-ranking search terms.
Your goal will be to craft and implement strategic, data-driven SEO initiatives. Here’s how you’ll accomplish this:
- Develop and own the results of a comprehensive SEO strategy for the core site and blog, including on-page and off-page elements
- Collaborate with the content team to develop a content marketing SEO strategy; assist them in building a roadmap
- Analyze and monitor rankings of key search terms and the organic traffic to our website properties
- Research keyword opportunities and provide them to members across our marketing team
- Monitor our website properties for any technical SEO issues or opportunities and surface them to the relevant development teams when you can’t resolve yourself
- Create SEO strategies in support of product launches and large marketing campaigns
- Support product and development teams with SEO-related requests, including how we improve the SEO of our users’ websites
- Communicate results, insights and recommendations to a broad range of stakeholders
The person we have in mind likely:
- Has 8+ years experience in an SEO-related role, preferably within a tech company
- Proven track record in developing and leading SEO strategies, not just execution, with a deep understanding of both the strategic and tactical aspects of SEO
- Possesses strong knowledge of SEO best practices, A/B testing, data analysis, technical SEO
- Is proficient in SEMRush, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Wordpress
- Can effectively communicate value being driven and strategy to other teams, both written and verbally
- Communicate strategy and data storytelling, presenting information in a compelling way that highlights key insights, drives action, and establishes clear connections
- Able to build meaningful and successful relationships with partners and team members, putting their interpersonal skills to good use through collaboration
- Holds strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Has a results-oriented mindset with a focus on using data insights to drive measurable outcomes
- Loves to learn and grow. You’ve found (and keep looking for) ways to level up your skills in this field, whether that’s through formal education, gaining professional experience, or maybe even building your own business
These things would also be nice, but we think you could learn them on the job:
- Experience in content strategy
- Technical background - coding skills a huge plus
- Google Tag Manager
- Be on the cutting edge of using AI for SEO and marketing
The recruitment compensation range for this position is $122,000 - $151,000 CAD. Your specific compensation within this range is determined based on your job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and our internal equity assessment.
