Scientist, Translational PK/PD
USA - Pennsylvania - West Point
Job Description
The department of Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, Metabolism and Bioanalytics (PDMB) is seeking a curious and collaborative scientist for our growing Translational PK/PD organization. The Translational PK/PD Specialist is responsible for driving application of our modeling and simulation capabilities to enable earlier and more confident decision making around PK/PD, modality selection and dose prediction across all therapeutic areas for small molecule, peptide and protein therapeutics. Specialists are skilled modelers that achieve results by interacting with multi-disciplinary discovery teams and partners from other functions within our company.
The Translational PK/PD Specialist role will help to drive impact in the drug discovery and translational space by:
Incorporating in vitro and in vivo data into systems models (PBPK and PK/PD) of drug disposition and pharmacology in support of translational and reverse translational efforts across multiple modalities and therapeutic areas
Understanding the impact of drug disposition on novel disease biology and pharmacological response (PK/PD) to inform human PK and dose projections
Closely collaborating with project teams and across the PDMB organization to develop modeling and simulation strategies to identify and optimize drug candidates
In addition to the responsibilities described above, Specialists demonstrate strong communication skills collaborating across PDMB and with other functional areas to create a quantitative model-informed approach to impact program strategies and decision making on drug discovery teams through the application of translational PK/PD, mechanistic and PBPK models.
Required:
MS/PharmD or equivalent degree in a STEM discipline
Experience in performing hands-on translational PK/PD modeling using standard modeling software (e.g., Phoenix, Berkeley Madonna, Monolix, Matlab, R)
Expert skills in experimental design, mathematical problem solving, critical data analysis/interpretation, and statistics
Preferred:
Proficiency in written and verbal communication and problem scoping and planning.
Expertise in biologics/large molecule/protein therapeutics modeling
Expertise in PBPK modeling
