Job Description

We are seeking a talented Scientist to join our Antibody Generation group located in South San Francisco, CA. The Scientist will be a part of a diverse team that is focused in the areas of in vivo antibody discovery, high throughput screening, and antibody sequencing to help isolate novel reagent and therapeutic antibodies. They will work closely with other team members and groups throughout the organization to help execute and troubleshoot antibody discovery programs. Additionally, they will work to improve platform antibody discovery processes to help meet rapid project timelines.

What you will do:

  • Design and execute antibody discovery campaigns using a diverse set of in vivo antibody discovery platforms and animal species:

    • Including antigen selection, animal immunization, hybridoma or B-cell screening, assay development, antibody sequencing, and antibody characterization.

    • Analyze and interpret experimental data, prepare clear and concise reports to communicate results to project teams.

    • Maintain detailed laboratory records, ensuring compliance with established protocols, quality control measures, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Stay updated with external advancements and scientific literature in the field of antibody discovery and characterization.

  • Promote the external reputation of our company’s Discovery Biologics team.

What you will need to be successful in this role:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s (with 2+ years postgrad experience) or Master’s degree in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology or related biological discipline and relevant professional laboratory research experience listed below.

  • Experience in in vivo antibody discovery approaches supporting therapeutic programs.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Required skills:

  • Hands-on experience in one or more antibody discovery platforms using immunized B-cell repertoires (i.e., Hybridoma fusion or B-cell culture, and/or microfluidic approaches, and Next Generation Sequencing).

  • Hands-on laboratory skills in cell culture, molecular biology, high-throughput screening (by ELISA or Flow Cytometry), assay development, and NGS.

  • Champion for a diverse and inclusive culture.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience conducting high-throughput screens for binding or function using various assay formats (ELISA, FACS, Meso Scale Discovery etc.).

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected US salary range:

$102,800.00 - $161,900.00
