Meet the Team:

You will be pivotal in designing and delivering a comprehensive sales process framework for the US market with the goal of driving sales excellence and future-proofing our business in a changing competitive environment. This will be done through establishing common terminology and definitions, standardizing scalable processes, and sharing best practices across the country.

As a part of Global Sales Process Excellence Team, and in partnership with the Commercial Excellence team, you will ensure alignment of sales practices, performance metrics, and business reviews between the US and other global regions. Additionally, in partnership with Marketing and other cross functional partners, you will be instrumental in the execution of Dexcom’s omnichannel initiatives and the aligned sales tools & tech.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales leadership, commercial strategy and execution, go-to-market design, omnichannel implementation, and effective communication.

Where You Come In:

  • Framework/Initiatives Design: Develop and implement frameworks and playbooks for sales excellence and omnichannel operations. This includes go-to-market models, segmentation, prioritization, territory optimization, targeting, regional sales reviews, sales competency development, and omnichannel orchestration.
  • Business Reviews & Planning: Work with cross-functional partners and Global Business Planning Manager to establish business review and business planning templates, leveraging both market needs and global best practices, creating aligned performance goals, and incorporating those goals in reports and performance expectations. Establish the timing and cadence for live reviews and ongoing monitoring.
  • Collaboration: Partner with the Commercial Excellence team and commercial leaders to design and implement the US Sales Excellence framework. Work closely with cross functional partners such as marketing, market access, HR, and sales training teams.
  • Harmonization and Implementation: Design top-tier sales processes by sharing industry best practices and conducting workshops to engage stakeholders effectively to ensure the continuous development of Dexcom’s sales processes to be future proof.
  • Project Management: Drive the implementation of US sales excellence initiatives through effective project management, engaging commercial leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Sales Competency Development: Collaborate with sales training and HR to design and implement programs that enhance sales team skills and performance.
  • Performance Management: In partnership with Global Director, Sales Performance Management, establish and manage sales performance metrics and review processes to ensure alignment with business objectives, working closely with various Commercial Excellence functions.
  • Communication: Facilitate effective communication across teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful execution of sales strategies.
  • Change Agent: Foster collaboration and a growth mindset across the US commercial organization. Promote best practice sharing and build champions across the US.

What Makes You Successful:

  • Outstanding track record in sales leadership
  • Additional experience in in Medtech and/or Pharma relating to Go To Market design & Omnichannel transformation
  • Excellent communication skills to balance the needs of key stakeholders, identify best case solutions designed with long term vision, build alignment, and drive workstream execution
  • Showing consistency between words and actions and delivering on promises to others
  • Encouraging and actively removing barriers to enable creativity and innovation
  • Proven professional experience in a dispersed matrix team environment, while balancing both US and Global needs
  • Ability to manage complex tasks involving multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines
  • Considering how others may respond to situations and planning the approach to achieve the best outcomes
  • Strong skills with Microsoft platforms (particularly building engaging and focused PowerPoint presentations), sales CRM’s, analytic platforms, RevAI platforms, and other sales tools and technology
  • Able to work flexible hours to manage workstreams that include contributors from multiple time-zones

  • Project Management: Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan, provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.

 

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in omnichannel program implementation & management
  • Familiarity with US regulatory environments and diabetes market dynamics
  • Proficiency in CRM and sales performance management tools (Veeva, Tableau, RevAI platforms, other BI)

Travel Required:

  • 25% - 50%

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8-12 years of related experience.
  • At this level a graduate degree may be desirable with 4 years of related experience
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commercial strategy and execution, with a focus on sales, sales leadership, sales excellence, and go-to-market design
  • Consulting experience preferred: Proven experience in a consulting role, preferably within the Medtech or healthcare industry
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively
  • Proven leadership abilities and strong executive presence
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
