The base salary range for a Sales Compensation & Commission Analyst is $44,000 to $79,700. Actual salaries will vary by geographic location and are based on factors such as candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, competencies, and company tenure & equity. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for a annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance.

 

This is a multi-level position with increasing levels of responsibility and requirements for each level.

 

Sales Compensation and Commission Analyst Overview

Supports the development, analysis, reporting and administration of the organization's sales compensation and commission programs.

Essential Duties:

  • Participates in the development of sales compensation and commission plans that support the organization's sales positions
  • Processes system hierarchy and/or commission changes, prepares commission and/or compensation statements and files and ensures accuracy of data following corporate audit guidelines
  • Monitors the incentive and commission payout processes, ensuring that calculations are correct, and payments are submitted for processing within specified timelines
  • Acts as a liaison between the company and customer to respond to inquiries and resolve issues related to sales compensation and commissions
  • Contributes to the collection and analysis of data to prepare and distribute reports on commissions, bonuses, sales compensation, and Form 5500 Schedule A information, including financial accruals
  • Assists with documenting processes and procedures to help ensure that compensation-related activities are in comply with applicable regulations and standards
  • Participates in various sales compensation and commission related projects
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and manipulate datasets with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex data to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Adherence to ethical standards and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive compensation information
  • Problem-solving skills to analyze compensation issues, propose solutions, and make recommendations for improving
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excel skills, with aptitude for learning other analytical tools

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, related field, or equivalent related experience
  • 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Or, equivalent military experience

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience in sales compensation and commission program administration and analysis
  • Experience with sales compensation management software is a plus
  • Sales compensation plan design knowledge and/or experience
  • Knowledge of database applications
  • SQL Experience
  • SharePoint
  • Salesforce
  • LifePRO and/or Compass experience
  • Understanding of financial concepts and the ability to interpret financial data
  • MS Reporting Services (SSRS) experience
  • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) experience
  • MS Power BI experience
  • Experience with data visualization tools and development
  • Insurance or Finance Experience
  • Industry Certification(s)
