As a SaaS Licensing Specialist, you will report to the Senior Director of License Sales and play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining long-term client relationships. Your primary focus will be on license retention, customer success, and delivering a consultative approach to license management. This role requires collaboration with technology partners, internal teams, and clients to provide exceptional service while driving growth and retention.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, focusing on license retention and renewal.
- Engage customers proactively with a consultative and solution-oriented approach to uncover new opportunities.
- Navigate relationships within large, global organizations to understand customer needs and provide tailored support.
- Work closely with sales and customer success teams to execute strategic growth plans.
- Collaborate with technology partners to maintain and strengthen partnerships.
- Thoroughly understand Atlassian’s software offerings and effectively position them to clients.
- Support customer needs with recommendations on budgeting, best practices, and license optimization.
- Stay updated on new products, features, and IT trends to provide customers with the best solutions.
- Maintain a metrics-driven approach to manage sales processes and track progress.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of all customer interactions throughout the sales cycle.
- Ensure all paperwork is properly documented and tracked.
Requirements
Requirements for Success
Technical Proficiency
- In-depth knowledge of SaaS licensing models, including user-based, consumption-based, and tiered pricing structures.
- Proficiency with tools like Salesforce, or Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence).
- Strong Excel and or GoogleSheets skills, including pivot tables and data extraction.
Sales and Consulting
- Ability to interpret software license agreements, terms, and conditions.
- Knowledge of software compliance regulations and policies to ensure proper usage and reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging with vendors, internal departments, and stakeholders.
- Teamwork and ability to work cross-functionally with client IT, procurement, and legal teams as well as internal teams.
- Exceptional accuracy in tracking software licenses, renewals, and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to understand IT and business process needs and formulate solutions based on a specific set of products and offerings.
- Background in selling products related to software development, technology management and delivery, and/or IT operations.
- Show consistent success maintaining and building client relationships within an organization
- Resilient, problem-solving, self-learner with great attention to detail
- Proven track record meeting and exceeding set goals and assigned quotas
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects & meet deadlines
- Have some accounting knowledge; business management experience would be a plus
- Some experience with Salesforce, Quickbooks, or Jira & Confluence preferred but not required
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years experience in SaaS account management, business development, or sales.
Benefits
Salary
$65,000-$80,000 USD dependent on location and experience.
