Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Engineer (or Safety Professional currently managing fleet safety) specializing in fleet management to join our Risk Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing risks associated with light and heavy fleets of all sizes in all industries. This role involves evaluating and mitigating risks, developing safety protocols, and providing expert guidance to our clients to ensure the safe and efficient operation of their fleets.  Fully remote in the U.S.

 

What you will do for C&F:

 

  • Able to effectively engage with clients in order to promote C&F’s capabilities while displaying a culture of proactive safety management.
  • Strong knowledge of telematics systems and ability to assist clients with implementation, monitoring and reporting. 
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for clients with light and heavy fleets, identifying potential hazards and recommending appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on best practices for fleet management, including vehicle maintenance, driver training, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with underwriting and claims teams to analyze loss data and identify trends, providing insights to improve risk selection and pricing.
  • Conduct on-site surveys and audits of client fleets to assess risk exposures and ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Prepare detailed risk assessment reports and presentations for clients, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Individual will work closely with underwriting, data science, and the actuarial team to steer improvements within the customer base. 
  • Stay current with industry trends/news and communicate the information with key stakeholders.
  • Develop strong working relationships with all levels of colleagues including senior leadership.

 

 

What you will bring to C&F:

 

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience preferred, either insurance or transportation industries.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk assessment techniques, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements for light and heavy fleets.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, time management and organizational capabilities with a strong customer service focus while building solid relationships.
  • Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Strong work ethic, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong customer service and relationship building skills.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Will abide by departmental policies and procedures, including authority levels, to comply with C&F's risk management controls.
  • Professional certifications such as ARM (Associate in Risk Management) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) are appreciated but not required.
  • Ability to travel as needed, up to 40%, to conduct on-site surveys and client meetings.

Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $74,900.00 to a maximum of $140,700.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
