Do you enjoy analysing information and data to influence business decisions and support people to prepare for change? We are looking for a Risk Analyst to join our Research & Analysis team.

This is a senior role which carries significant responsibilities and opportunities to get involved in developing and embedding our horizon scanning and foresight work. This is a hybrid role and can be based in our Birmingham, Cardiff or London office.

The role

As an Insights Risk Analyst you will use your analytical skills to help us understand the potential impacts of the rapid changes in the legal services market. By doing this you will help inform the SRA's regulatory policy, prioritise our actions and support the profession and the public.

Producing high quality insights to support evidence-based regulatory policy making is important. You will be coordinating inputs from numerous stakeholders your insights will inform our proactive prioritisation work. You will also be confident communicating your research findings both internally and externally, as we aim to support the profession to manage the risks in the market to make sure that the public is protected. 

What’s key for this role is being able to draw strategic, policy and operational insights from a range of data to build up a compelling narrative about why things are happening and what their impact might be. 

Our small team is made up of researchers, data scientists and other analysts who work closely and collaboratively on projects. We welcome applicants with a variety of experience which will have given them insight into risks and opportunities facing the legal services market.

What we are looking for:

  • experience of working in a horizon scanning, risk identification or proactive prioritisation environment where you produced high quality conclusions.
  • curiosity and an ability to draw together information from multiple sources to identify trends and consider future possibilities.
  • ability to produce reasoned conclusions to underpin regulatory policy and prioritised action.
  • experience of communicating ideas and findings with both internal and external stakeholders and to quality assure outputs.
  • strong team player familiar with working with people with different, complementary skill sets.

We are recruiting for this role on a full-time or part-time basis, working 28-35 hours per week. We welcome applicants who may be looking to achieve a balance between their personal and professional life and may be able to consider flexible working arrangements.

This is a hybrid role and can be based either in our Birmingham, Cardiff or London office 1-2 days a week, and from home for rest of the week. Some travel will be required to the SRA’s other offices (usually to our Birmingham office), or for meetings with stakeholders or attendance at events. This would be in addition to days at your home office.

The salary offer for this role is £58,265 for Birmingham and Cardiff based and £64,092 for London based.
