Revenue Analyst or Revenue Accounting Manager (Contractor)

Are you a proactive, highly motivated, and technically savvy professional ready to make a difference? We are seeking a contractor to support our Revenue Accounting team while they focus on critical IT projects. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and has a comprehensive understanding  of ASC 606, coupled with experience in SaaS, services, and hardware arrangements.

What you will do:

  • Prepare and review month-end account reconciliations, journal entries, and fluctuation analyses, ensuring accuracy and compliance in accordance with US GAAP
  • Manage daily revenue accounting operations to ensure customer contracts are processed timely and in accordance with company policies. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Review and approve sales orders integrated from SFDC timely to ensure they are booked in accordance with the executed contractual documents
  • Prepare or review analysis supporting journal entries for accruals, deferrals and reclassifications
  • Maintain revenue arrangements for credits, contract modifications or change in allocations
  • Prepare deferred revenue waterfall and ensure it reconciles to the GL
  • Conduct flux analysis of revenue accounts
  • Analyze Revenue Arrangements, Revenue Plans and Accounts Receivable data in Netsuite for various projects
  • Perform front-end deal reviews: Partner closely with Sales, Deal Desk, and Legal to  provide technical revenue guidance for deal negotiation and structuring, ensure application of ASC 606 and financial objectives are met
  • Perform back-end customer contract reviews and complete revenue recognition checklist and ensure customer contracts are recorded and accounted for accurately in accordance with ASC 606
  • Support our quarterly and annual review and audit process, including the preparation of audit schedules and ensuring timely, accurate reporting.

Who you are:

  • 7+ years in  finance and accounting, with a strong background in  high-growth SaaS industries
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA and Big 4 Public Accounting experience are a plus
  • Possesses a strong working knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce, Zuora, and NetSuite is required
  • Possesses a solid understanding of relational databases as well as advanced Excel and data analysis skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment while working independently and communicating concerns or identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation within the revenue and accounting functions.

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $85 an hour + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
