Our Accounting team is committed to ensuring accurate and compliant finance practices and operational excellence. We provide operational excellence and consistency in our partnerships with all Karat stakeholders at Karat and clients worldwide.

What you will do

As the Revenue Accounting Manager at Karat, you will serve as a key individual contributor responsible for Karat's critical revenue recognition and accounting operations. You will drive operational excellence in financial processes, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and implement system optimizations that support Karat's growth objectives. Your financial expertise and analytical skills will be instrumental in ensuring compliance, efficiency, and scalability of revenue processes while providing valuable insights to inform business decisions at all levels.

  • Execute and optimize Karat's revenue recognition, A/R processes, month/year-end close activities, and financial reporting related to revenue; ensure accuracy and compliance with established standards.
  • Develop and implement improvements on revenue accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls; drive efficiency while maintaining compliance with ASC 606, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate and partner with internal teams, external vendors, and customers to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition across all business lines and contracts.
  • In partnership with team members, analyze and recommend improvements for accounting systems and integrations with an eye for process optimization to meet demand, scale, and growth needs.
  • Prepare and organize documentation for revenue-related audits and tax filings; work closely with external auditors to ensure compliance and respond to inquiries.
  • Contribute and deliver specialized revenue accounting expertise for complex transactions, contract reviews, and technical accounting matters; provide financial insights to support business decision-making.
  • Support and process payroll functions; ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in compliance with federal and state regulations.

The experience you will bring

  • 8+ years of accounting experience with a specialized focus on revenue recognition and ASC 606 compliance
  • Strong track record of independently managing complex revenue accounting processes and projects
  • CPA certification preferred; proven expertise in technical revenue accounting principles
  • Demonstrated proficiency in performing detailed revenue accounting research and implementing best practices
  • Experience working with financial systems including: Sage Intacct, Salesforce, and other revenue management tools
  • Advanced Excel skills and aptitude for financial analysis and data interpretation
  • Self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; able to prioritize effectively while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to clearly explain complex revenue concepts to non-accounting stakeholders

This position is only available to candidates residing in the following U.S. states: IL, OR, TX, and WA. While our team operates 100% remotely, we are currently limiting hiring to these specific locations. Applications from other states will not be considered at this time.

  • 8 weeks: “Karat Phase-Back” 20 hours per week, full pay

Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. This role may be eligible for additional rewards, including commissions, bonuses, and equity.The base salary pay range across the United States for this role is:$90,000—$118,800 USD
