What we’re seeking

We’re currently seeking a Food Safety Auditor as part of our Institutional business group. This is a full-time position, auditing retail grocery and food service establishments.). The Food Safety Auditor will conduct audits to measure conformity to established regulatory, industry, and customer brand standards for clients around food safety, workplace safety, and facility standards.  This person will also conduct on-site training sessions at food establishments in between each audit cycle.  Training session will focus on food safety and regulatory topics found in the audit form, as well as sanitation procedures and other facility standards.

What you’ll do

  • Audit to food safety standards in assigned territory based on location.
  • Conduct site-level food safety and sanitation training in assigned territory based on location.
  • Communicate and suggest corrective actions with site level personnel.
  • Learn account standards, participate in initial calibration activities, pass calibration exam.
  • Observe food preparation and cooking procedures to ensure food safety, health, and sanitation standards are followed.
  • Conduct audits that are scheduled weekly based on the contractor’s availability Monday through Friday. The length of each audit will vary.
  • Complete audits using an Android or iOS tablet.
  • Travel to client sites to complete audit.
  • Maintain / replace wall chart job aids, stickers, test strips, etc.
  • Evaluate need for equipment service and deploy a technician if needed or unable to resolve quickly without tools.
  • Develop and maintain good customer relationships
  • Internal reporting and administrative tasks

What qualifications we require

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent and associate’s degree with a minimum of 2+ years’ experience with programs for retail food safety and sanitation clients
  • Certified Professional – Food Safety (CP-FS) credential from NEHA, or the ability to gain this credential within 6 months from start date (not required if REHS/RS credentialed)
  • Valid US driver’s license
  • Ability to travel within region (Arizona, Northwest New Mexico, Southern Nevada) with overnight travel approximately once per month
  • Excellent time management, motivation, good communicator, and professional demeanor
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish); we would accept conversational Spanish if not fully fluent

Additional considerations given

  • Registered Sanitarian or equivalent, i.e. REHS/RS credential
  • Bachelor’s degrees in, Food science, Food and Nutrition, Restaurant Management/Hospitality, Environmental health, Education, or another relevant subject
  • Ideal candidates will be based in the Phoenix, AZ metro

Pay Range:$60,750.00-85,050.00 Apply
