The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse looking to supplement their hours to support our study into a rare neurological disorder that causes progressive weakness and sensory loss in the arms and legs. The role involves administering bi-annual assessments of participant motor functionality, which will be done remotely over video call. Each assessment is expected to take 10 - 15 minutes, and the total work is expected to average 5 - 10 hours per month over 2 years. PicnicHealth is a participant-focused team, and you will experience exceptional support for your work and the participant experience, as well as the opportunity to support important research that aims to improve our understanding of disease progression, treatment impact and quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Administer motor functionality assessments via video call
- Keep your calendar availability up-to-date via PicnicHealth’s scheduling platform so participants can schedule televisits with you
- Document visit notes accurately and promptly within 2 hours of the visit
- Log in to scheduled appointments at least 15 minutes prior to scheduled start time
- Prioritize participant safety at all times
- Follow all project SOPs & escalation pathways
- Commitment to keep RN license active, unencumbered, and in good standing and to provide renewed license details to PicnicHealth for documentation
- Communicate any technical issues or participant questions to the PicnicHealth team so they can support, triage, and resolve
- Maintain a professional approach for all participant communications, with a particular focus on empathy, kindness, and patience
- Manage own hours effectively, take required breaks and submit timesheets weekly
- Provide feedback to the PicnicHealth team on processes and technology, to ensure continuous improvements for participants and research goals success

Requirements
- Valid US RN license; active, unencumbered, in good standing
- A dedicated quiet workspace with high-speed, reliable internet
- Access to personal phone
- Remote video (tele) visit experience
- Available for calls across a varied schedule to support different participant schedules and US time-zones. For example, mornings, after work, weekends.
- Bonus: familiarity with neurological conditions
Details
- Fully remote, contract role
- Equipment (laptop) provided by PicnicHealth
- Training in GCP (Good Clinical Practices) and study specific protocols will be provided prior to starting
- Expected hours: 5 - 10 per month
- Starting: late Feb 2025, with study ongoing for 24 months (until Feb 2027)
- Rate: $60 / hour
