Purpose of Position
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Review of available public, private or other information regarding CO2 stream composition from sources such as power generation, ethanol production, cement plants, direct air capture, ammonia production, or other industry
- Provide summary of findings of research in item 1 above
- Provide reports as indicated by Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA)
- Present findings of project as indicated by PHMSA
- Work with other groups to accomplish deliverables required by PHMSA

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or earth science
- Graduate student in petroleum engineering
- Familiarity pipelines and surface facilities used within the oil and gas industries
- Familiarity with codes used within the oil and gas industry, particularly American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), etc.
- Interested in applied research, conducting research, and being part of a research team
- Completed undergraduate coursework, or worked in the oil and gas industry
- Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software packages
- Enrolled in a minimum o 1 credit for the employed academic semester
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in working with the design and operation of facilities in the oil and gas industry.
- Experience with drawings rendered in AutoCAD or other software packages.
- Familiarity with industry codes such as ASME, API, ANSI, NACE, or other standards/codes used within the oil and gas industry.
