Job Title: Remote Structural Engineer (100% Work From Home)

  Location: Remote from Latin America   Position Type: Full-time    Salary: $2,500 USD/month     Schedule: Monday to Friday, business hours Pacific Time

 

Job Overview: 

As a Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in our client's residential remodeling projects. You will assist in evaluating structural requirements, designing safe and efficient solutions, and ensuring compliance with building codes. The position requires experience designing/engineering wood framed residential structures preferably in the United States.      Responsibilities: 
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and designers to assess structural needs for residential remodels, including load-bearing wall removals and layout modifications.
  • Conduct structural analyses and calculations to ensure the safety and stability of proposed designs.
  • Prepare and review construction documents, structural plans, and structural details for all residential projects where structural work is required
  • Coordinate with Field Project Manager, Interior designers and Drafting team members
  • Drafting support for binders
  • Municipality research to determine permit requirements
  • Assist with virtual site visits to assess existing conditions and monitor construction progress for compliance with structural requirements.
  • Research and apply relevant local, state, and national building codes and regulations.
  • Coordinate with contractors and other team members to resolve structural challenges during construction.
  • Provide recommendations for structural improvements and cost-effective solutions.
 

Qualifications, Skills and Key Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Proficient in ENERCALC software
  • 2 years experience designing/engineering wood framed residential structures
  • Knowledge of local building practices. 
  • Work experience for US based company preferred.
  • Knowledge of structural engineering principles, analysis methods, and building materials- especially wood framed residential structures
  • Proficiency in CAD programs AutoCAD & Revit
  • Basic understanding of building codes (e.g., CBC, IBC, ASCE 7).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
