Stryker is looking for a talented, hands-on Software Engineer to join our growing organization. You will be a responsible for the design and implementation of complete integration systems for rapid delivery of critical events and communications to intelligent healthcare systems and medical professionals to support cutting-edge patient care solutions. You will have the opportunity to develop and optimize data transfer methods and include them in comprehensive clinical integrations. This position reports to the R&D Manager, Integrations. What You Will Do

  • You will collaborate with teams both internal and external to Stryker to solve data communication challenges
  • You will leverage design principals, design patterns, and apply them to address specific product requirements
  • You will exemplify good engineering practices utilizing Agile development methodologies
  • You will participate in and seek continuous learning through peer review
  • You will provide technical leadership within the team and mentor junior engineers
  • You will assist our support and professional services teams in debugging and resolving customer integration issues
  • You will ensure quality by creation of automated unit, functional, and system tests
  • You will create and maintain data model designs that meet requirements for performance and security
  • You will adhere to required processes for medical device regulatory compliance

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering / Computer Science or related discipline required
  • 6+ years of work experience required

What We Would Love That You Have (Preferred Qualifications)

(You do not need to have ALL of these)

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Java, Linux, and databases
  • Experience or certification in SAFe and/or Scrum Agile
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices
  • Experience with Cloud Development and Containers
  • Knowledge of common networking and messaging protocols such as TCP, UDP, SOAP, REST, HL7, JSON, XML, …
