This role focuses exclusively on California Workers’ Compensation claims for a dedicated commercial trucking industry account. Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
As a Workers' Compensation Claim Consultant, you’ll manage claims from investigation through resolution within the California jurisdiction. This role requires a strong understanding of California Workers’ Compensation laws and industry-specific nuances in trucking claims.
🔹 Claims Adjustment: Investigate, evaluate, and adjust workers' compensation claims in compliance with California regulations and client-specific guidelines.🔹 Reserve Management: Establish and adjust reserves within authority levels.🔹 Billing Oversight: Review and negotiate medical, legal, and damage invoices for reasonableness.🔹 Claim Payments: Authorize and process payments following industry standards and settlement authority.🔹 Settlements: Negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys, ensuring compliance with California laws and client authorizations.🔹 Vendor Collaboration: Partner with defense attorneys and external vendors for legal, surveillance, and case management services.🔹 Reporting: Prepare detailed claim status reports, payments, and reserves, and provide updates for excess insurers.🔹 Service Excellence: Deliver outstanding claim services to CCMSI’s dedicated client while maintaining high corporate standards.🔹 Hearings & Legal Proceedings: Represent CCMSI at California Workers' Compensation hearings, mediations, and legal conferences as needed.
Qualifications
What You Bring to the Table
✅ Must-Have Skills:
✔ 5+ years of experience handling California Workers' Compensation claims✔ Deep knowledge of California Workers' Compensation laws and procedures✔ California Adjuster’s License (required)✔ Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)✔ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
✨ Nice-to-Have Skills:➕ Self-Insurance Administrator (SIP) certification (preferred)➕ Experience handling claims in the commercial trucking industry
