Are you looking for an opportunity to work on a brand-new video game with a team of highly respected game developers, designers and artists? Do you enjoy solving challenging problems? If you want to turn ambiguous problems into solvable pieces, identify solutions, and initiate and maintain release processes this is the role for you.
As a Release Manager (Contract) you will support the build and deployment pipeline for Towerborne. We’re looking for someone to help execute the process for releasing content title updates and new releases. This role needs someone with the game developer know-how to discuss complex problems and drive discussions with technical teams. You’ll also need hands-on experience with partner developer portals and industry standard build pipeline tools. It also requires organizational and interpersonal skills to connect all of the various game development disciplines.
This is a contract position with a minimum contract of 6 months.

What You'll Do

  • Support release readiness, build publishing, and configuration promotions through all environments including production
  • Document and execute change management and release process for all platforms and storefronts
  • Coordinate and drive multiple releases in flight to maintain a steady release cadence
  • Identify and mitigate risks to releases
  • Update documentation for dashboards and process changes
  • Support end-to-end Build Health process including monitoring, escalation, and reporting
  • Partner closely with Technical Operations and Backend teams to keep upstream development on track and to ensure a healthy downstream live player experience
  • Work in a cross-functional capacity to be the point of contact among Design, Engineering, Art, Product, QA, and management teams
  • Work with leads to update and maintain, communicate, and coordinate release information and schedules
  • Assist in coordinating internal and external release notes, known issues, and knowledge base updates
  • Support triage of production outages

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in Release Management, Technical Production, or Technical Project Management
  • Knowledge of and experience with release processes for Live Games
  • Knowledge of release tools and pipelines on PC, gaming consoles, and mobile
  • Knowledge of first-party platform portals, gaming platform technology & release requirements
  • Ability to quickly grasp highly technical concepts as explained by Developers, support teams, and QA to extract core messages for summary and explanation to others
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline tools as well as DevOps practices and philosophies
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to operate in a highly fluid environment and react swiftly to prevent adverse effects resulting from frequent changes
  • Experience working with Project Management software

  • Eastern Time Zone working hours preferred
  • Experience working in the Unreal Engine development ecosystem
  • Experience working with Perforce
  • Experience working with TeamCity
  • Experience working in the Azure / PlayFab ecosystem
