In compliance with applicable State regulatory authorities, vaccination for COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) is mandatory for all MSK staff who do not work 100% remotely (including new hires ). Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 Exceptions from the COVID-19 vaccine requirement are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical, religious, or fully remote exemption. Requests for exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved medical exemption is required to start work.
Job Description
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is one of the world’s premier cancer centers, committed to exceptional patient care, leading-edge research, and superb educational programs. The blending of research with patient care is at the heart of everything we do. The institution is a comprehensive cancer center whose purposes are the treatment and control of cancer, the advancement of biomedical knowledge through laboratory and clinical research, and the training of scientists, physicians and other health care workers.
We have built an outstanding team of hospitalists over the past 15 years, and we are continuing to grow. We currently have regional hospitalists / primary oncology consultant positions available in Bergen, NJ. Our hospitalists are all internal medicine trained/boarded; no specific training in medical oncology is required. Oncologists and palliative care specialists are also encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities include:
- A 7-day on, 7-day off work cycle
- During the 7-day week, you are expected to see MSK patients in the Emergency Room and round on all MSK patients that are admitted.
- Working with the hospitalist services at the local host hospitals, to round on MSK patients who are admitted.
- Providing coordinated care with local subspecialists and to serve as a conduit between the MSK oncologists and patients.
- Building strong relationships with physicians in all specialties to provide excellent care to MSK patients.
Our ideal candidate will have superior communication skills; board certification/eligibility in internal medicine, proven clinical management skills and the ability to obtain a current unrestricted NJ Medical License. There is excellent growth potential for a candidate who seeks a fulfilling career in academic medicine.
Salary range: $250,000-$330,000 based on experience.
