Overview
The Regional Business Director (RBD) is accountable for providing leadership, direction, and developmental guidance to a team of Area Business Specialists (ABS) in pursuit of commercial objectives. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the RBD will participate in the development and execution of strategic and tactical plans in order to meet and exceed sales goals and business objectives while remaining aligned with Xeris’ values. In addition, the RBD will establish high work standards and ensure the team achieves results in an ethical manner and works in accordance with all company policies. RBD must live within the assigned geography.
Candidate must reside in one of the following states : NY, PA, CT, OH, DC, MA
Responsibilities
- Work closely with management to establish corporate objectives specific to assigned region
- Create a face to the internal and external customer that demonstrates Xeris’ commitment to bringing value and solutions to the customers and patients we serve.
- Collaborate with peers, marketing and training personnel to share information and implement regional initiatives/strategies.
- Professionally and ethically represent Xeris to external customers and foster their respect by demonstrating our commitment to advancing patient care and outcomes
- Engage subordinates frequently, including regular field visits & business reviews, listening to and coaching them to identify and maximize opportunities and leverage successes
- Demonstrates overall knowledge of key business and market issues
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills when interacting with subordinates, peers, customers and others
- Demonstrates teamwork at meetings and when working on projects with others
- Demonstrates ability to hold representatives to consistent, well understood standards (customer account knowledge, territory knowledge, project management, product/clinical knowledge, selling skills, call/account planning, call/account analysis, resource utilization, admin, etc.)
- Understands the orphan disease marketplace and business
- Directs and manages the Region budget for maximum return
- Effective utilization of meetings and conference calls
- Manages individual and team administrative responsibilities
- Builds an effective and productive team
- Demonstrates keen ability to interview and hire effectively
- Resolves personnel issues effectively and efficiently
Qualifications
- BA/BS required, advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years successful pharmaceutical/biotech/orphan disease sales experience
- 5(+) current years of Sales Management experience is strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of orphan disease sales processes and distribution networks

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $190,000 to $210,000. Final determination of base salary offered will depend on several factors relevant to the position, including but not limited to candidate skills, experience, education, market location, and business need. This role will include eligibility for commission and equity. The total compensation package will also include additional elements such as multiple paid time off benefits, various health insurance options, retirement benefits and more. Details about these and other offerings will be provided at the time a conditional offer of employment is made.
