What you will do:

As the Regional Application Engineer, you will be responsible for providing application engineering support and managing customer communications related to Sales Orders. This includes specification review, quoting, order entry, submittals, communicating project status updates, and facilitating project signoffs. The primary goals of this role are to improve customer satisfaction and support the Sales team’s focus and effort on revenue growth. This person works with the Regional Sales Manager and Sales Director to track goals and objectives for the region (CRM opportunity management, on-time delivery metrics, speed to quote, win/loss ratios, etc.).

  • Quote Administration - Provides timely and accurate quotations and bid proposals to customers. Works with Sales and Engineering teams to identify the appropriate equipment selections. Manage quotation pipeline and maintain follow-up communications with customers to drive sales.
  • Specification Review – Provides accurate detailed review of Engineering Specifications related to Aerzen scope of supply, including recommendations and comments to best position Aerzen in sales opportunity.
  • Vendor Equipment Inquiries – Utilize customer specifications and datasheets to source pricing and scope proposals from third party vendors. Work directly with vendors to ensure compliance with specifications and project budget requirements.
  • Order Entry – Confirms the accuracy of customer data, order information, and alignment to quotation. Enters orders into ERP system and/or works with internal partners to ensure accuracy for entry of complex orders.
  • Order Confirmation – Engages directly with customers to confirm receipt of orders and communicate estimated lead time of Aerzen deliverables.  
  • Submittal Tracking – Communicates with customers regarding project submittals and drawings for Aerzen standard equipment after order confirmation. For complex, non-standard projects, works with Aerzen Project Management in submittal preparation and communication.
  • Order Administration – Responsible for tracking milestone dates related to sales orders. Manages communication between internal and external customers to ensure clear and accurate details. Tracks on-time delivery to ensure customer satisfaction and minimize disruption to our production schedules. Engages with Aerzen Project Manager, as necessary, to ensure project remains on track with Customer timeline and expectations.
  • Communication – Acts as a filter for all communications between customers and production teams. Timely, detailed, and clear communication is required for success. This includes face-to-face, video conferences, phone calls, and e-mails.  
  • Invoicing – Ensures all milestone invoices are sent to customers. Works with A/R team to encourage timely payment of open invoices. 
  • Startup Coordination - Works with customers to confirm all parties are prepared for startup requirements of new packages. Responsible to follow project through customer sign-off of project. Ensures a clean handoff to the Aftersales team.
  • Quality and Warranty – Responsible for addressing customer related complaints prior to project sign-off. Works with customers to confirm accuracy and details of complaint, as required, and engages with the Project Manager, Aftersales, and Quality to ensure a solution is developed and NCP are generated.
  • Customer Visits – Will travel with Regional Sales Managers to customer locations to develop relationships, discuss projects, and support outside sales efforts.
  • Learning – Desire to learn and grow in the role. This position is meant to provide future opportunities within the organization; including, but not limited to: Regional Sales Manager, Project Manager, Service Coordinator.
  • Lead Generation - Generates sales leads/opportunities while interacting with customers and work closely with the Regional Sales Managers to effectively identify and pursue opportunities.
  • Lead Management - Works closely with the Regional Service Managers and Sales team to track and update opportunities within Salesforce. Provides timely follow-up on open actions and opportunities.
  • Compliance - Ensures compliance with applicable Federal, State, Local and customer statues requirements about safety, employment, and environment.
Requirements

Education: A Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or technical school) or work equivalent. Field of study: Technical or Business related, Engineering degree preferred. 

Experience: Entry level to 3 years of related customer support experience. 

Functional Skills: Excellent planning, prioritization, organization, and execution skills; high attention to details and ability to analyze large amounts of data; analytical and logical thinker who can problem-solve and implement solutions, excellent with time management.

Technology Aptitude/Skills: Proficient in Windows 10, Microsoft Office; CRM and ERP experience (Salesforce and Business Central/ Navision) is a plus.

Language Skills: Advanced verbal and written communication skills; able to present to groups and educate/train others.

Leadership/Behaviors: Strong customer-focus, excellent leadership and change-management skills, with the ability to listen, motivate, and influence others to action; high integrity and compliance mindset.
