Yaskawa is currently seeking a Regional Sales Manager for our Drives West Sales Region. This role will provide leadership to all channels, field sales engineers and manufacturer representatives within the assigned geographic region. The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible development and implementation of plans necessary to insure that the region exceeds the stated goals and objectives of the company. The ideal candidate is someone who can clearly articulate the company vision and competitive advantages as defined by Sales and Marketing to gain marketshare. The successful candidate should have a high level presence in securing new customers, expanding relationships at existing customers, and be able to plan, coordinate and execute actions necessary to garner sales. More specifically this role will:
- Develop regional sales plans and through individual and team efforts ensure those plans are met.
- Organize the sales channels so that they are efficient, effective and maximize our market share
- Staff the region with high performers, coordinate training, and set objectives to grow the region.
- Directly sell to and support key (target) customers, including the initiation and generation of quotation activity in the territory in order to generate present and future business.
- Provide both verbal and written reports to the organization and other staff, including sales channel updates, three-month forecasting, progress, MBO updates and new opportunities – on a quarterly basis.
- Manage budget and expenses both short term and long term, and continually monitor.
- Compile competitive information, both technical and commercial, on an on-going basis
- Coordinate & attend regional sales meetings, trade shows, product training classes, and other meetings and shows as required.
The ideal candidate will have a depth of sales leadership experience and will possess:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred, Marketing or Business course work, or equivalent related work experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of industrial sales and/or marketing experience in the factory automation industry. A minimum of 3 years of experience leading a regional sales organization is preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Yaskawa and competitors’ products, channels and strategies.
- Thorough understanding of situational selling, value propositions and interpersonal relationships.
- Experience in supporting and managing various sales channels, and networks such as distributors, value added resellers, integrators, representatives and other channel outlets.
