Why do we need you? Well, we are looking for an R&D Operations Specialist who will bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, operational efficiency expertise, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration. You will report to the Director, R&D Operations and will be responsible for optimizing and executing operational processes within the R&D organization to support strategic initiatives, resource planning, and efficiency improvements.
A day in the life of a R&D Operations Specialist at Calendly
On a typical day, you will be working on:
- Supporting the execution of R&D initiatives to align with business priorities, ensuring successful delivery of key objectives
- Coordinating and facilitating operating rhythms for the R&D organization by working closely with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders
- Assisting in resource planning efforts by collaborating with R&D leaders and HR partners to support hiring strategies, location planning, and skills assessments that align with business outcomes
- Maintaining and enhancing the Product Development Lifecycle, identifying and addressing bottlenecks, improving communication, and optimizing workflows to improve efficiency
- Contributing to the enterprise planning process, supporting alignment and coordination across various functions within and outside of R&D
- Utilizing data-driven frameworks to support decision-making for internal operations and product-related strategies in collaboration with analytics teams
What do we need from you?
- 5+ years in operating roles, preferably engineering operations roles
- Strong understanding of business operations, strategy, and R&D processes
- Ability to align R&D initiatives with broader company objectives
- Experience with R&D planning and portfolio management tools
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts and Agile methodologies is a plus
- Ability to identify bottlenecks and streamline processes in the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC)
- Experience implementing operational improvements and efficiency strategies
- Strong problem-solving mindset to address challenges in enterprise planning and execution
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time

The ranges listed below are the expected annual base salary for this role, subject to change.
Calendly takes a number of factors into consideration when determining an employee’s starting salary, including relevant experience, relevant skills sets, interview performance, location/metropolitan area, and internal pay equity.
Base salary is just one component of Calendly’s total rewards package. All full-time (30 hours/week) employees are also eligible for our Quarterly Corporate Bonus program (or Sales incentive), equity awards, and competitive benefits.
Calendly uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location, or the onsite building location if hybrid, to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. Current geographic zones are as follows:
- Tier 1: San Francisco, CA, San Jose, CA, New York City, NY
- Tier 2: Chicago, IL, Austin, TX, Denver, CO, Boston, MA, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, PA, Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, Miami, FL, and all other cities in CA.
- Tier 3: All other locations not in Tier 1 or Tier 2
