HOW YOU WILL DO IT
Purpose Statement:
The Applications Manager provides customer service excellence by helping internal customers in quoting and finance resolve issues in a timely manner while also driving to root cause to prevent recurrence, providing daily “care and feeding” for core applications to ensure availability and performance, providing conceptual design expertise to solutions, owning the application life cycle (patching, upgrades, security updates, etc.), and managing relationships with key third party software suppliers.
Key Job Accountabilities:
Provide customer service excellence in supporting Plexus teammates through incident support, management and resolution of global costing applications.
Work with regional and global business partners in quoting, finance and manufacturing to elicit high-level requirements and business needs, followed by articulating those into documented business requirements and demands. Lead prioritization exercises by providing cost and effort estimation/analysis. Manage the priority of demands to map them appropriately into a process focused functionality roadmap.
Lead the development of queries and scripts in support of quoting applications as an individual contributor or by providing oversite to internal/external developers.
Code should be written in compliance with current standards, contain adequate comments and drive for maximum system efficiency where possible.Collaborate in creating test plans and executing testing procedures to ensure business requirements are met and that existing functionality is not adversely impacted.
Manage clear and concise communication and documentation of test results. Provide support and follow-through to make sure issues are resolved in a timely manner.Support user knowledge base by maintaining training material, documenting best practices and supporting the training of new application subject matter experts.
Education/Experience Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or Business is required; a Master's level coursework is preferred.
- 5 years of related experience needed
Other Qualifications:
Intermediate understanding of SQL
Intermediate understanding of VB Script or VBA
Advanced knowledge in MS Excel or Google Sheets
Solid understanding of algebra and/or financial analysis
applicable experience in analyzing and maintaining product costs in manufacturing environment
applicable experience in maintaining software applications and/or software designing functionality
Physical Requirements:
- Professional office environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and low noise level. May require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, using a computer, and other office equipment. Minimal physical activity is generally involved, emphasizing the importance of good posture and ergonomic workplace arrangements.
