JOB SUMMARY: Oversee and manage the Quality Control functions. This includes compliance with SOP’s, inspection, product disposition, holding and releasing of product. Update policies and procedures. Communicate information to relevant product division.

Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the Quality Control department personnel. Set goals, targets, and incentives for team. Build and maintain employee morale and motivation.
  • Assist divisional partners with stock check, deviation, rework, and product disposition escalation.
  • Conduct regular meetings with Operations leadership to align expectations.
  • Communicate product quality issues, information, trends or other data to respective internal customers.
  • Collaborate with peers and internal customers to improve quality, processes, and SOP’s/documentation.
  • Develop processes and plans to identify trends and focus on continuous improvements.
  • Resolve disputes. Direct activities for resolution between staff and divisions/internal customers.
  • Issue trend and status reports.
  • Prioritize quality workloads across all locations, authorize travel or resource allocation as needed.
  • Assist Operations with on-site visits from external entities including FDA and Board of Pharmacy.
  • Assist Operations with identification of compliance issues; provide solutions to maintain audit ready status.

Management responsibilities include:

  • Typically oversees professional employees/teams OR typically manages non-professional employees through Supervisors in manufacturing, distribution or office environments - Day-to-day operations of a group of employees.
  • May have limited budgetary responsibility and usually contributes to budgetary impact; - Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects and develops.
  • Recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies.
  • Provide general guidelines and parameters for staff functioning.
  • Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
  • Education - Bachelor’s Degree. Work Experience - At least 4 years of experience working with Quality Assurance or Quality Control for regulated industries.
  • At least 4 years of experience working with QSR/GMP/ISO. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities - Intermediate understanding of FDA/QSR guidelines.
  • Intermediate knowledge level of quality control standards. - Intermediate skill level in SAP. - Intermediate auditing skills. - Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns). - Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
  • Position requires travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
  • PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS - Experience in Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Food, Cosmetic, or Personal Products Industries.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$100,360.00 - $150,800.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
