Quality Control Lead

Position Summary:
IEM is looking for a Full Time Quality Control Lead who will be responsible for supervising QC staff and ensuring all program applications are in compliance with federal and state regulations. QC Lead will develop and maintain the program quality control standard operating procedure, training material and will assure that established policies, processes and procedures are followed in conjunction with daily operations through observation and comprehensive review. QC Lead will be engaging with key stakeholders on the project team and serve as liaison for inquires or concerns pertaining to applications and project management practices.
QC lead will also be responsible for reviewing completed rebate applications, including spot-checking and ensuring compliance of the specialists underneath them, verifying approved qualifying rebates, and conducting quality control activities to ensure program compliance across their team. This role also requires documenting progress in a system of record and communicating with other functional areas as required by operating procedures with limited supervision. A Quality Control Lead will have and maintain a complete understanding of all applicable program policies, procedures, and requirements within the guidelines established to follow program compliance.
Candidate must be attentive to detail, understand program policies, analytical, and possess good written and interpersonal communication skills. The program requires strict compliance with federal and state regulations and program policy.
Primary Location:
- Candidates can originate from anywhere in the United States, you will work remotely from home or personal office location.
- Time zone may vary, this will be discussed upon finalization of any offer.
- All remote work environments require the ability to maintain minimum Internet speeds of 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download, as well as a ping rate of 100 MS or less during working hours, regardless of the type and number of devices using your Internet connection. You must also have account privileges and access to your Internet service provider account during working hours for the purposes of maintaining the Internet connection, if needed.

Essential Functions:
- Review records for fraud, waste, inconsistencies, investigate, and collaborate with and internal partners to resolve issues with analysis and customer service skills. Where problems arise, log support issues, communicate, resolve and escalate according to defined standard operating procedures.
- Analyze and verify provided documentation for inconsistencies, accuracy, and various discrepancies with an understanding of program policy.
- Understand program needs, policy, departmental process flows, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in updates and improvements to Quality Control policies and processes.
- Follow-up with identified compliance issues, initiate corrective actions, based on policy guidelines, and implement program controls, as necessary.
- Manage individual workload, productivity, and communications that enable accurate, efficient, and policy compliant processing.
- Contribute to team success with effective communication and sound decision making.
- Respond to questions and requests professionally and in a timely manner.
- Carefully review completed rebate applications pushed by rebate processors for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with program guidelines.
- Verify approval of eligible applications by issuing rebate coupons and updating applicant and project records.
- Flag any discrepancies or incomplete information or documentation for follow-up by rebate processor.
- Maintain highly confidential applicant and client financial records securely per privacy requirements.
- Work closely with auditing team on fraud investigations as needed.
- Understand program needs, policy, departmental process flows, and standard operating procedures.
- Continuously identify process improvements to maximize accuracy, accountability, and customer experience.
- Other remote duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s OR Associate’s degree from an accredited university in a relevant field. A combination of education and work experience will also be considered.
- Four (4) years’ experience in federally-funded programs – preferably rebates and incentives related to home energy efficiency, appliances, or home electrification.
- Ability to exercise impartial, unbiased professional care when reviewing case files. Including the capability of the highest level of professional objectivity for gathering, evaluating, and communicating information.
- Four (4) or more years of experience providing high level review of documentation and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to perform tasks within a fast-paced environment and limited supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and collaboration with team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with energy policy, materials, and processes.
- MS Office and Adobe Reader
- Understanding the importance and handling of personally identifiable information.
