The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the software product by developing and executing test plans, identifying and reporting defects, while working with development teams to ensure defects are addressed. This role requires a strong understanding of software development processes and testing methodologies, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Prepare test plans for unit, system, automation, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for each major release during the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure software products meet quality standards.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Work closely with product owners, developers, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and ensure testing aligns with those requirements.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality.
  • Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts whenever possible
  • Monitor and report on software quality metrics and recommend process improvements.
  • Utilize defect reporting/tracking tools (Jira/Confluence).
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related field), or substitute six years of equivalent work experience
  • At least four (4) years of specialized experience in quality assurance and/or quality control
  • At least four (4) years of experience testing web-based applications
  • At least two (2) years of experience with test automation (e.g., Gauge, Selenium, Cucumber)
  • At least two (2) years of experience with API testing (SoapUI, JMeter)
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a programming or scripting language (JavaScript, Java, Python, PHP, C++)
  • Must have experience working with Agile/Scrum
  • Must have experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Strong work ethic, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidates must provide fingerprints and be able to pass a US Public Trust background check for badging and access to client systems
  • Previous federal government project experience a plus

Certifications Preferred:

  • ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL), ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level (CTAL), or comparable certification preferred

  • In order to meet the clearance requirements for this opportunity, candidates must be must be authorized to work in the US.
  • All candidates will be subject to a complete background check to include, but not limited to Criminal History, Education Verification, Professional Certification Verification, Verification of Previous Employment and Credit History.
  • Public Trust background investigations can take approximately four to eight weeks and requires fingerprinting.

  • The salary for this position is $50,000 - $80,000 annually
