Publicity Assistant - Portfolio, Sentinel, Optimism Press, & Thesis (Open to Remote)

New York, NY, US, 10019

We are seeking a Publicity Assistant to join the Portfolio publicity team, a small, collaborative, and entrepreneurial division of Penguin Publishing Group. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, news-driven environment.

This Publicity Assistant will work across our four imprints: Portfolio, a diverse list of business titles that we describe as ‘nonfiction for ambitious people’; Sentinel, which publishes idea-driven nonfiction that skews conservative; Optimism Press, a list dedicated to promising new voices in leadership and public service curated by bestselling author Simon Sinek; and Thesis, which publishes nonfiction with strong points of view that challenge the status quo on both sides of the political aisle.

Our authors are internationally recognized economists, leaders, professors, CEOs, journalists, media personalities, and movement starters, and our mission is to help them refine and position their message, build their tribes, and spread their ideas far and wide.

The Publicity Assistant should be highly motivated, enthusiastic about publishing, and enjoy reading broadly and often. We seek an individual ready to champion our books from day one while working alongside a fast-paced team. The Assistant should be a detail-orientated self-starter, a strong written and verbal communicator, and an organized multitasker. If you are comfortable asking questions, asking for help when needed, and being an active participant on a collaborative team, this may be the position for you.

Please apply using our ATS system by July 5, 2024, and include your resume and cover letter for consideration. Before applying for any role at Penguin Random House, we recommend you review our applicant resources page and look over our open-to-remote guidelines on our FAQs page.
