About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Public Relations, the Public Relations Specialist I will play a key role in supporting Alight’s external communications team in advancing the company’s external presence and promoting its industry leadership. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in public relations, media relations, or external communications, a strategic mindset and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, bloggers, and influencers.

  • Proactively pitch story ideas, coordinate interviews, and manage press releases to secure positive media coverage.

  • Monitor media coverage and industry trends and provide regular reports and analysis to internal stakeholders.

  • Coordinate across marketing campaigns, product launches and other promotional activities.

  • Partnering with communications and marketing to ensure communications are consistent and coordinated across key constituents.

  • Collaborate with agency partners to drive measurable PR results.

  • Assist in drafting and editing press releases, media kits, pitches, and other promotional materials.

  • Collaborate with team members to create engaging content for social media and newsletters to amplify key messaging.

  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitor activities, and target audience preferences to inform communication strategies.

  • Monitor campaign metrics and media coverage to evaluate effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

  • Provide general administrative assistance, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, organizing files, and coordinating team activities.
