OVERVIEW 

The Prevention of Sexual Abuse (PSA) Compliance Monitor will conduct regular audits of facilities funded by the Office of Refugee Resettlement that care for unaccompanied children to ensure they are complying with policies and best practices for the prevention of sexual abuse. This position will develop training content, tools, strategies, form development, process flow, and corrective action planning focused on the prevention of sexual abuse in ORR funded care provide facilities. This position reports to the Program Manager of Children’s Services. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Regularly conduct onsite audits of ORR-funded facilities;
  • Provide expertise in monitoring, auditing, licensing, and investigations in preventing and responding to sexual abuse and harassment;
  • Develop tools, reports, and protocols;
  • Conduct pre-audit reviews of policies, training, reports, and other documentation;
  • Write audit reports and corrective action plans;
  • Provide consultation and recommendation for practice improvement;
  • Contribute to regular project reporting and support for activities related to the project’s evaluation, including data collection and continuous quality improvement efforts;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree OR Master's in social work, public administration, J.D. law degree or relevant field; 
  • At least 5 to 7 years professional work experience with a particular focus in conducting investigations or compliance audits; 
  • Must possess a demonstrated understanding and experience of child welfare, compliance monitoring, and best practices for the prevention of sexual abuse; 
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is required;
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite products;
  • Highly adaptable and flexible with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a demanding work environment;
  • Must have a valid state-issued driver's license, automobile insurance, clean driving record and reliable personal transportation; 
  • Candidate must demonstrate a commitment to comply with mandatory state reporting requirement for child abuse and neglect; 
  • Candidate must have dedication to the human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers and displaced people;
  • Covid-19 vaccination card mandatory; 
  • Candidate must pass a criminal background check that includes past history of conviction of child and sexual abuse; and
  • Demonstrated support of USCRI’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace. 
  • Candidate must be willing to travel at minimum 50% long distance for site monitoring

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS 

  • Satisfactory Completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training;
  • Complete additional training as identified by supervisor(s), program director or Human Resources

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity;
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands; 
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying;
