Summary

This position requires a comprehensive knowledge of the CT Medical Assistance Program as well as in-depth mastery of the related online screens and windows required for provider research.  This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to respond to inquiries from the provider community regarding all aspects of the Connecticut Medical Assistance Program, including policy and billing procedures.  Responsible to conduct research on claims status, billing procedures, and answer provider inquiries.  This person will conduct provider training via onsite visits and provider workshops as well as internal training to provider assistance center analysts. Additional responsibilities will include writing bulletins, provider billing instructions, contributing to the development of definition documents related to program changes to their assigned provider groups.  Ideal candidate will have strong experience in MS Office Suite as well as SharePoint Designer and familiar with formatting HTML code.

Your role in our mission

  • Process and return moderately complex provider applications/ requests
  • Data entering, confirming provider information entered into computer system for tracking application purposes
  • Process written correspondence for provider maintenance
  • Research of problem areas and document processes used to correct issues
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries relating to enrollment questions
  • Track and log all provider inquiries
  • Correspond and return applications providing clear direction to providers
  • Ensure proper policy and guidelines are being followed by using the User and Operating procedure manuals
  • Train and mentor new team members and customer contacts on routine matters
  • Compile and report service statistics

  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism in communicating with providers and customers
  • Ability to effectively work independently to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and work under aggressive time constraints
  • Ability to work with details and follow directions
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to use multiple window based screens to perform work
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to be well organized and work under high production standards

 

What you should expect in this role

  • Primarily work from home, must be located in CT
  • May require work from the East Hartford office periodically, or full time, in the future

The pay range for this position is $35,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
