Job Overview 

Davies US is looking for an experienced Proposal Manager to be front and center of proposals, coordinating and producing content in conjunction with the wider North American and Group sales functions.  Reporting to the Proposal Manager, you will be responsible to supporting the acquisition and retention of prospects and clients of Davies North America through management of the proposal process from opportunity evaluation to the production of winning proposal submissions.  

 

To be successful in this role, you need to be proactive, independent, and takes initiative with consistent follow through, superb communication skills, verbal and written, conducted in a timely manner and superior time management skills with capability of working with and meeting deadlines.  You must have experience of proposals in the insurance and or claims environment across the full spectrum of US claim categories is a plus, experience of agile methodologies such as Kanban and a Bachelors degree.  Additionally, you will need to have a high-level attention to detail and problem-solving skills and capable of working collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision.  This role is a full-time, home-based position.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Engaging with internal stakeholders to understand the opportunity scope and client/ prospect expectations and devising an appropriate ‘winning proposal’ strategy.
  • Planning a coordinated response strategy set against the requirements of client requests, RFPs, proposals, etc.
  • Working with the subject matter experts, technical and sales teams along with operational leaders to develop client specific propositions to meet the scope and expectations of the client/prospect.
  • Coordinating and contributing to the production of technical and persuasive proposal copy that serves the overarching proposal theme.
  • Developing a library of industry, service, sector and personnel content relative to the North American proposition, utilizing our bids management software, Loopio, to create projects, assign tasks, and integrate content for the Library.
  • Managing the proposal process from concept development, content curation and team preparation ensuring continuity of proposal themes and effective delivery of key messaging.
  • Maintaining a log of proposal opportunities pending, in progress and complete to support divisional and global sales reporting, conversion rate analysis and feedback/lessons learned processes. 
  • Preparing short form proposals outside of formal proposal processes for the conversion of sales prospects and existing client growth opportunities.
  • Liaising with operational colleagues to ensure resourcing, capacity planning and pricing requirements are assessed to ensure the pursuit of viable and profitable opportunities. 
  • Working on pitch decks following a notice to present after an RFP, coordinating with presenters and ensuring the team is prepped with all the information needed for a successful presentation.
  • Provide proposal management support to the wider group bids management team, as and when required.

Experience and Qualifications

Required

  • Experience of proposals in the insurance and or claims environment across the full spectrum of US claim categories is a plus 
  • Experience of agile methodologies such as Kanban 
  • Bachelors degree

 

Preferred

  • Experienced in a high-pressured environment 
  • 2 to 3 years of experience

Essential Requirements

  • Must have US work rights

Position Type, Work Environment and Physical Demands

This is a home-based, full time, salaried, exempt position that predominantly operates remotely from a professional home-based office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and scanners and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer.  While performing the duties of this job, the individual will be required to regularly hear and talk.  This is a largely sedentary role requiring the ability to sit at a desk, reach outward, use a phone, have use of fingers to operate office equipment such as a keyboard, mouse, phone, printer, copier, and to reach above the head, bend, or stand as necessary.
