Purpose of Position
This position will serve as program manager for suicide prevention grants in the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) at the University of North Dakota. This position will be split 50% through the CDC funded ND HOPES (North Dakota Healthcare, Opportunity, Prevention, and Education in Suicide prevention) grant and 50% through the SAMHSA funded ND THRIVES grant. The Program Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the projects. Additionally, they will oversee all team communications and TA efforts, collaborate with partners to support adherence to the goals and objectives of the programs, ensure “boots on the ground” in engagement with stakeholders, monitor adherence to evidence-based practices implemented in rural areas, assist with grant reporting, and ensure that success stories are shared. The Program Manager is expected to support key populations of interest for the grants including: rural residents, indigenous communities, veterans, and LGBTQ+ communities.
This position is remote eligible. As part of this work, the Program Manager is expected to travel, at minimum, quarterly to the service areas of the projects (Western ND – ND HOPES & Northwest ND – ND THRIVES), to ensure connection to the partners and communities served. This position will report directly to both of the project’s Primary Investigators
Duties & Responsibilities
- Project Coordination
- Serve as the point of contact for the projects.
- Collaborate with lead program team members on educational curriculum/materials, trainings, and service referrals.
- Coordinate the development and preparation of marketing and promotional materials.
- Project Implementation
- Organize outreach efforts to targeted populations including use of Project ECHO and engaging with Communities of Practice.
- Arrange & participate in team meetings, including logistical arrangements, drafting agendas, and recording minutes.
- Present and/or exhibit at workshops, conferences, virtual trainings, and other events.
- Tracking of project events & activities.
- Collaborate with lead program team in the development, implementation, and management of project objectives and short and long-range plans to ensure deliverables.
- Oversee program initiatives and the day-to-day project management working with North Dakota communities.
- Stay current with ND HOPES activities and share, as appropriate, with lead program team and others.
- Write and submit required project reports.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a health related field, communications, psychology, education, or similar.
- Experience working with computers and technology supporting distance learning/meetings using video conferencing such as Zoom, WebEx or similar.
- Skills and experience writing programmatic reports. Finalist(s) will be asked to submit two samples of this as part of the interview process.
- Must have skills and experience using Microsoft Office Suite, in particular MS Word, PowerPoint, & Excel.
- Valid Drivers License
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
