Project Manager- Mining/Construction

Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Mining/Construction Project Manager to join our team! In this role you will provide expertise and technical assistance to a team managing ongoing operations and construction at unique northern abandoned mines.
This position can be located anywhere in Western Canada but travel to northern mines (Yukon and North-West Territories) would be required.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Develops the work packaging, sequencing, and scheduling plans
- Manages Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) program for Construction activities including review and approval of Contractors and oversight of work activities
- Responsible for the delivery of the construction scope, schedule, budget and quality of work packages delivered by sub-contractors.
- Preparation of technical components of tender documents meeting the project requirements
- Coordination of requests for clarification on all issued documents, and issuance of addenda to tender documents
- Management of internal and external communications regarding tender submissions
- Assists Construction Manager and Safety with EHS program implementation;
- Subcontractor review, site inspections and enforcement of standards
- Provides support to the HS and Environmental managers, leads by example and actively participates in the EHS program (training, inspections, employee mentoring)
- Preparation and issuance of contract documents
- Processing and maintaining control and accountability for contract modifications (i.e. Contemplated Change Notice, Change Order, etc.)
- Managing and coordinating the appropriate closure of contracts, including management of performance metric reporting, acquisition of deliverables (i.e. Operations manuals, warranty documentation)
- Maintaining and updating tracking tools with current values for contracts and amendments (projected and actual), and developing data summaries
- Compliance monitoring of contract deliverables
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
4-year degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology or related technical/business field
10+ years of relevant experience
- 8 years of experience in the environmental industry performing technical and project management duties
- 4 years of experience in similar role at complex Mine or Heavy Civil projects in cold climates and remote conditions (Northern Canada)
- Knowledgeable of industry practices and regulations
