WORK OPTION: The NBA currently provides eligible employees the option of working remotely one day per week.

This is a temporary position with an expected duration not to exceed (10) months. Part-time role, about 22 hours per week. 

 

Position Summary

The Corporate Writer, HR Communications plays a pivotal role in developing, crafting, and delivering strategic, engaging, and impactful content to support the organization’s HR initiatives. Reporting to the Director of HR Communications, this position ensures that all HR communications align with the company’s voice, culture, and values while enhancing employee engagement and understanding of key HR programs, policies, and initiatives. 

 

Major Responsibilities

•    Craft clear, concise messaging and develop tailored content for HR strategic programs and Chief People Officer-led initiatives, including All Hands meetings, newsletters, engagement communications, leadership materials, engagement survey messaging, and learning and development initiatives.
•    Write and edit content for BAU and recurring HR communications in partnership with HR Communications team (e.g., benefits materials and performance process updates). 
•    Develop content tailored for multiple communication channels such as newsletters, emails, intranet updates, videos, webinars, LinkedIn and presentations.
•    Partner with HR leaders and cross-functional teams, including Strategic Communications, to understand communication needs and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
•    Provide editorial oversight, ensuring all communications are consistent in tone, style, and voice, and adhere to corporate brand guidelines.
•    Support communications reviews, edit materials for grammar, accuracy, and accessibility, and ensure high-quality execution across platforms.
•    Manage multiple communication projects and deadlines simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of materials.

 

Required Education/Professional Experience

•    Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
•    At least 5 years of experience in corporate writing, internal communications, or related roles, preferably in HR or employee-focused communications.

 

Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes

•    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics.
•    Proven experience in writing for various formats, audiences, and communication channels.
•    Familiarity with HR concepts, policies, and programs (e.g., benefits, compliance, DEI).
•    Strong project management and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and communication platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Slack, or similar).
•    Adaptable and creative, with the ability to navigate a fast-paced environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

    •    Experience with graphic design, video editing, or other visual communication tools.
    •    Knowledge of change management and employee engagement strategies.
    •    Familiarity with accessibility best practices and inclusive communication techniques.

 

Salary Range: $1,442.40 weekly
