Overview
LMI is seeking an Project Coordinator II to support NASA’s workforce experience activities for students in community college with a STEM focus. This role will provide critical administrative and project coordination support to the NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) program, helping to manage project operations and ensuring smooth and effective program execution. NCAS is a STEM engagement activity for community college students seeking to transfer to a 4-year institution or go directly to the labor force. NCAS uses NASA’s unique expertise, research, facilities, and other resources in the area of aerospace to engage students inauthentic and experiential learning experiences. Three consecutive mission opportunities are offered alongside an opportunity to apply for a paid internship. NCAS also partners with Minority Serving Institutions enabling them to engage students in similar experiences that are scaled to the institutions’ STEM networks. This position requires the ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
Mission 1: Discover allows students to participate in a 5-week, self-paced online course, where they learn about NASA missions, research, and goals.
Mission 2: Explore allows students to participate in one of two educational simulations. The simulations help students practice and improve their knowledge while having fun.
Mission 3: Innovate allows students to participate in an engineering design challenge: robotics competition or capstone project; participating students will be hosted onsite for a week at an NCAS partner institution or a NASA field center.

Responsibilities

- Provide administrative and logistical support across multiple facets of the NCAS program as directed by Project Managers (PMs) and Educational Program Managers (EPMs).
- Manage and maintain SharePoint sites, ensuring proper organization, accessibility, and accuracy of documentation and final nomenclature review for all materials.
- Prepare and complete reports and visual data (e.g., the MUREP monthly slide) to support program documentation and communication.
- Coordinate with internal and external NASA points of contact to schedule and update Mission timelines and integrate NCAS activities into larger NASA initiatives, such as updating dates on the OSTEM calendar.
- Support NCAS-funded NASA interns, assisting with onboarding, documentation, and continuous engagement throughout the internship period.
- Develop and distribute internal and external communication materials, such as files, correspondence, and informational guides, to effectively advocate for and promote NCAS.
- Act as the main support team member for PMs and EPMs, contributing to NCAS strategic planning efforts, facilitating Mission execution, and maintaining partnerships with Principal Investigators (PIs) and Mission participants.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
- 4 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a program coordination or administrative support role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially SharePoint, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-based environment and engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with project documentation, report generation, and data visualization.
- Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
Target salary range: $49875 - $85785. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
