Project Controls Manager Finance

The Project Controls Manager is a corporate remote position that plays a crucial role in supporting project management and financial operations across the company LLCs. Responsibilities include analyzing and reporting financial data primarily related to government contracts. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in financial analysis, data management, ability to present data analysis to senior management, and compliance within the realm of government contracting. A knowledge of basic Accounting is also a plus. This role is successful by being detail-oriented, ability to take self-initiative in problem solving, and willingness to share your knowledge with other team members.
Management
- The Project Controls Manager integrates, manages, coordinates, and reviews all stages of a contract’s life cycle from pre-award to close-out.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Financial Reports: Generate financial reports on a monthly basis and as requested by S&K Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) or other relevant stakeholders.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and provide detailed analysis, including direct and indirect expenses and variances to budgets and forecasts.
- Excel Expertise: Utilize intermediate Excel skills to analyze and present financial data effectively as needed.
Contract Review, Setup and Closeout:
- Contract Review: Review new contracts to obtain requirements and information necessary to setup the new project charge codes in our accounting system Cost Point.
- Contract Setup: Enter new contracts and contract modifications into Cost Point for charging and cost collection,and authorize employees access to the project codes.
- Contract Closeouts: Prepare the financial portions of final invoices for contract closeouts.
LLC Project Support:
- Month-End Accounting: Review monthly expenses and revenue, and enter revenue adjustments, accounting journal entries / accruals as needed.
- Budgets/Forecasts: Enter Budget and Forecast data as needed. This requires an ability to communicate and work directly with all organizational levels (Presidents, Project Managers, Staff).
Audits:
- Supporting Audits: Provide supporting data requested by government DCAA auditors as well as independent accounting auditors.
Travel:
- Will be required to travel for approximately 4 days, 3-4 times a year for Team meetings usually held in Montana or Houston, TX.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field preferred
Experience
- Five (5) years minimum of relevant experience in government contract financial analysis preferred
- Experience in Government Contract accounting is preferred.
License, Cert or Registration
- Current driver's license
- CPA/MBA/CTP/FP&A preferred.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.
