Department Overview:
The Waisman Center is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about human development, developmental disabilities, and neurodegenerative diseases throughout the lifespan. One of 15 centers of its kind in the United States, the Waisman Center encompasses laboratories for biomedical and behavioral research, a brain imaging center, and a clinical bio-manufacturing facility for the production of pharmaceuticals for early-stage human clinical trials. In addition to its research efforts, the Center provides an array of services to people with developmental disabilities, offers numerous educational and outreach programs to young children and their families, and trains scientists and clinicians who will serve our nation in the future.Anticipated Start Date:

-Knowledge of and training in intellectual disabilities including Down syndrome- Experience with research regulatory procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Computer proficiency and expertise using Microsoft Office software.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Experience working with diverse communities including individuals from underrepresented racial/ethnic and socioeconomic groups
-Good organizational skills
- Possesses both English and Spanish oral and written communication skills.

Position Summary/Job Duties:
-Attend lab and research consortium meetings 5%
-Assist in creating training materials, manuals, and documentation tailored to the Puerto Rico site 10%
-Collaborate with the research team to prepare and set up the Puerto Rico study site, including coordinating logistics, supplies, and necessary equipment 30%-Help organize and facilitate training sessions for research team members and local site staff, ensuring they are well informed about the study protocols, ethical guidelines, and data collection procedures 20%
-Act as a point of contact between the Puerto Rico site and the main research team, ensuring smooth communication and addressing any logistical or operational concerns 30%
-Ensure all study materials are appropriately translated and adapted for the Puerto Rico site, ensuring cultural relevance and accuracy 5%
