Programme Officer (7143)
Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom
Permanent contract | full-time 37 hours per week | £36,124 to £37,938 per annum (Grade I) | Norwich (hybrid working)
Programme Officer
Our transformation agenda in Norfolk Children’s Services is succeeding for children and young people and has been endorsed recently by two successful inspections.
With a track record of successful projects and further large scale change underway, this is an opportunity to be part of our highly skilled team with the focus to drive forward transformation at pace.
Now is a fantastic moment to join our team:
- we have a substantial investment fund to deploy and a mandate to make change happen
- you will have the opportunity to work on significant programmes of change, contributing to improved outcomes for children, young people and families across Norfolk
- you would be joining a strong transformation team with a great reputation, where we will invest in your development
As a Programme Officer you will work with Programme Managers / Business Design and Change Managers and key stakeholders to support the definition, planning and delivery of programmes, ensuring that programme controls are in place for successful delivery of the expected benefits and outcomes.
The role will initially be aligned to one of the larger change management programmes within Children’s Services, however flexibility will be required to support other programmes and change activity as per changing priorities across the wider Children’s Services Strategy, Planning, and Change portfolio.
With a track record of collaboration, you will work with internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of transformational change for children, young people and families in Norfolk. Strong communication and analytical skills will be essential to enable management of programme controls and the tracking of costs and benefits.
You will have the opportunity to develop your change management skills whilst expanding your experience, such as through being supported to manage smaller change projects.
Public or private sector – we are looking for someone with strong organisation skills, who can apply these to a programme and/or project structure, with exceptional planning and complete-finisher skills, supporting improved outcomes for children and young people.
Is this you? Interested? To discuss the role in more detail please contact one of our programme managers, Keith Holmes (Prevention and Early Help) on 01603 223843 or Eve Cronin (Social Care and Sufficiency) on 01603 217676
We anticipate that working remotely will be a key feature of this role, but when you work from the office your base will be County Hall, Norwich, with occasional requirement to attend different locations within Norfolk for specific purposes, such as visiting a service delivery site, or attending a workshop/meeting with a 3rd party. Our technology platform and equipment are first class, enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely or in a hybrid fashion.
Before you apply, we recommend reading the full Job Description and Person Specification to help you demonstrate you meet the criteria.
