Location: Remote, North of England, with regular travel to Cambridge 
Salary: £31,238 - £34,000 p.a. full-time equivalent, dependent on experience
Basis: Permanent; full-time, part-time or flexible

The role

Since launching in 2012 Code Club has supported over 2 million young people to learn how to create with code. In the next ten years, our ambition is for over ten million more young people to join a Code Club and develop the skills, knowledge, and mindsets needed to thrive in a world shaped by digital technologies. We think all children should have the opportunity to be creative with digital technologies, no matter who they are or where they come from, and we want to make it simple for teachers and volunteers to help young people to build their digital skills. 

Reporting to the Head of Club Growth & Engagement for the UK & Ireland, the Community Coordinator (North of England) will be responsible for the growth of the Code Club programme in the region. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of the needs of teachers and volunteers, schools and community groups. You will be a driven and efficient community coordinator with experience of delivering educational programmes in formal or non-formal settings. You will have a track record of developing successful partnerships and be confident when communicating with stakeholders at all levels. You will have an agile attitude to work, and you'll be ready to try new approaches, evaluate them, and iterate on them.

You don’t need to be an expert in computing or digital making, but you do need to bring a passion for our mission and a willingness to learn. Previous involvement with Code Club would be a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and evaluate activities that lead to the growth and retention of impactful clubs in the North of England. Use data to inform decision making, and demonstrate improvements over time
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with new and existing stakeholders to ensure the visibility and growth of Code Club in the North of England
• Deliver relevant and timely support to club organisers and volunteers including training and community-building events, and contribute to the creation of tools and resources 
• Provide content for Code Club communications including mailings, blogs, social media content, and newsletters
• Support Code Clubs’ engagement with other Raspberry Pi Foundation programmes including Astro Pi and Coolest Projects
• Consult new and existing club organisers to inform programme development, and work with colleagues to ensure Code Club processes are efficient and effective 
• Contribute to the engagement and support of clubs globally, including responding to incoming queries, moderation of our online course, club verification, and updating website content 

Experience and personal attributes

• Experience of developing and supporting volunteer-led or community programmes in school or community settings, ideally on a regional or national scale
• Knowledge of the educational landscape in England and how schools operate
• A track record of building and maintaining successful partnerships
• Excellent communication skills; you should feel comfortable presenting to different audiences and be able to write clearly
• Experience of facilitating high-quality training, ideally for educators
• Good data and analytical skills, and the ability to use data effectively to improve what we do
• Willingness and ability to travel within the UK, with overnight stays when necessary
