Program Manager (Washington, D.C.) - Olin Business

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Program Development, Coordination and Planning
- Engages in management of programs for government and business audience.
- Manages outreach efforts with program director to identify customer needs.
- Identifies program speakers and researches program topics for assigned programs.
- Serves as trusted advisor to participants (i.e., interacts with participants to understand their needs, recommend courses, provide information on course content, explain services offered by Executive Education, resolve issues).
- Provides input to marketing team on the development of promotional materials.
- Conducts research on new issue areas, speakers and potential partner organizations and faculty.
- Keeps abreast of issue areas related to program assignments and business development priorities.
- Serves as liaison with speakers and faculty.
- Researches and prepares customized program material.
- Negotiates and manages program related contracts.
- Responds to client requests.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Program Implementation & Logistics
- Is responsible for the effective and efficient coordination of the educational program, working on-site to manage logistics and to help resolve any problems that arise.
- With Senior Staff and outside partner organizations, assists in the evaluation of programs and development of recommendations to improve future programs.
- As appropriate, provides back-up for Senior Staff Members, accompanying groups to site visits and introduces guest speakers.
- Actively engages participants and solicits referrals for other Executive Education programs.
- Oversees venue selection and reservations, arranges transportation if required, handles meal planning, and ensures proper approval of contracts for external vendors.
- Manages the preparation and distribution of participant information.
- Tracks program expenses against budget and keeps updated information on monies committed by the program.
- Assures that financial obligations are in compliance with approved program budgets.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Team Leadership Responsibilities
- Actively engages in the organizational development of Executive Education.
- Provides ideas for management and operational improvement.
- Helps creates opportunities for Executive Education growth.
Performs other duties as assigned.
