Technical Manager Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Technical Manager to oversee the technical aspects and technological resources of our company for the purpose of business growth. The Technical Manager will work closely with different teams, understand their needs and ensure the best and most cost-effective solutions are provided. Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated, goal-oriented, team-focused engineer with a passion for overseeing projects and working on strategy with upper management.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction and guidance for all projects the team handles.
- Coordinate with the project management team to develop and implement project plans.
- Manage and improve the allocation of technical resources and schedules of the projects.
- Ensure all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards.
- Identify, compare, select and implement technology solutions to meet current and future needs.
- Develop, track, and control the development and deployment annual operating and capital budgets for buying, staffing, and operations.
- Track, analyze and check technology performance metrics.
- Oversee all system design and changes in system architecture.
Qualifications
- Technical Managers typically need a minimum of 5 years of experience in technical roles such as System Administrator, IT Analyst, Software Engineer, or other IT-related roles.
- Proven experience as a Technical Manager or similar role.
- Sound understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical details clearly.
- Experience with project management, strategic planning and risk management.
- Extensive industry knowledge with an eye towards the future.
- Strong decision-making skills with a knack for selecting and adopting technology.
- BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent in a related field.
