About the role
Matillion is looking for a world-class Services Consultant to be an integral part of a Services organization responsible for working with partners and clients leveraging Matillion in their data deployments. You will work with Fortune 1000 companies and their system integrator partners to architect, design and implement Matillion as part of their big data tech stack. You will also provide consulting services directly to these system integrator partners that help their teams get trained and productive on Matillion best practices. This role can be remote, but you can expect to travel up to 30% of the time as needed. The work will be fast-paced, challenging and highly rewarding as you support the accelerated growth of the Matillion customer and partner ecosystem.
What you will be doing;

Client Delivery of Services

  • Deliver packaged post-sale service offerings to customers that enable them to execute big data projects that connect their cloud data warehouses and their cloud service providers
  • Support the deployment and optimization of Matillion according to best practices while ensuring effective knowledge transfer to customers
  • Define and document best practice solutions regarding the use of data pipelines and data transformations for cloud data integration projects.
  • Serve in a senior customer-facing role that requires extensive knowledge of ETL/ELT, data warehousing (including dimensional modeling, data lake, data vault, etc.), software development life cycle (SDLC) and continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) as pertains to data warehouse workflows. 

Partner Enablement and Support

  • Serve as the “technical voice” in relationships with Matilion’s System Integration (SI), Global System Integration (GSI) partners, and Technical Alliance partnerships
  • Maintain a library of technical content to demonstrate in technical enablement sessions
  • Deliver hands-on workshops in technical enablement sessions

Training Material Development and Thought Leadership

  • Maintain the base of official training for Matillion’s customers, on subjects such as: Platform Best Practices, APIs, Data Warehousing, Git, AI
  • Write and publish thought leadership articles on subjects of interest and important to the business
  • Maintain deep awareness of complementary cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP and cloud data platforms including Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, Azure Synapse and Snowflake. Knowledge of Delta Lake for Databricks is a plus.

Advocate for Customer and Partner Needs

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and marketing team members to identify ways to improve Matillion products as well as partner and customer outcomes
  • Represent the voice of the customer to inform product roadmap priorities, contribute to the development of success plans in partnership with the Success Management team, and identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts.

What we are looking for

  • Minimum 3-5  years of experience working with customers in a technical consulting role as part of a consulting organization
  • Hands-on expertise with on-premise data solutions, data warehouses, ETL products or other data analytics solutions
  • Experience with AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Google Big Query, Microsoft Azure or Matillion is highly valued
  • Ability to create structure in ambiguous situations and design effective solutions
  • A degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, data analysis, or equivalent is a plus
At Matillion, we are committed to providing competitive salaries in line with market standards. Our estimated compensation range for this position is $108,800 - $163,200 but the final salary will be based on your relevant skills, experience and qualifications demonstrated in the hiring process.
