Product Owner

Overview

Salary:  $110K - $130K/yr d.o.e.

Location: Remote OK (If living within 31 miles of Tustin, CA or Austin, TX will need to be able to work 2 days on-site)

Key to our continued growth is building and supporting an ecosystem of partners around our core business to provide outstanding services to our clients. We're hiring a, execution-focused Product Owner to join our B2B team—a role instrumental to supporting the success of this strategy.

In this role, you'll work closely with Product Managers to implement a strategic vision for our business solutions. You'll translate high-level product strategy into tactical execution, prioritizing user stories and technical work that delivers maximum business value within sprint cycles.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

Sprint Execution & Backlog Management

• Translate strategic roadmap into well-defined user stories with clear acceptance criteria
• Build and maintain a prioritized sprint backlog that supports the product vision
• Ensure the team has 2-3 sprints worth of refined, execution-ready work at all times
• Articulate clear sprint goals for every sprint
• Monitor sprint progress and keep delivery plans updated

Technical Implementation

• Work with Engineering and QA to ensure accurate implementation of product requirements
• Help maintain system health and address defects and production issues promptly
• Understand and articulate technical enablers needed for feature delivery
• Support QA activities when needed

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Serve as the day-to-day subject matter expert for our B2B systems and solutions
• Act as the primary point of contact for implementation and technical questions
• Work closely with Engineering, QA, and Design teams in daily implementation decisions
• Participate actively in daily Scrum activities

Agile Team Support

• Partner with the Scrum Master to mitigate impediments and ensure sprint success
• Help drive team improvements within sprint cycles
• Support daily Scrum activities and foster collaboration, commitment, and transparency
• Play an active role in backlog refinement and sprint planning

Qualifications

Required

• 2+ years of experience as a Product Owner or equivalent role
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies
• Hands-on experience with user story writing and acceptance criteria
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in the details of day-to-day implementation

Preferred

• Mortgage industry or real estate experience and background
• B2B software experience
• Experience working in two-week sprint cycles
• Familiarity with technical implementation details and constraints
• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
