Product Owner for Trading

This role will collaborate with technical product managers, business analysts, and product managers to align efforts and maintain coordination on activities and efforts. The Product Owner provides leadership in advancing IC’s SMA/UMA platform, developing market driven features and innovating around our existing capabilities.

The individual will be the client advocate and last word on technical product management decisions. The role will lead the product strategy, mentor, and provide guidance for the implementation of our APL 10 platform. Experience in the trading, operations, rebalancing of portfolios that are hosted in the APL platform or comparable platforms.

This role will be accountable for the product development activities associated with incremental and strategic changes to the platform. They will also proactively identify risks and take decisive action to mitigate risk and drive successful results.

Technical Product Owner will lead the technical product managers that report directly and indirectly to the role, providing guidance and support. They will direct the activities of project managers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders. They will oversee the overall product, take care of the product strategy and roadmap, and manage the stakeholders, but still be involved in managing the product backlog and making prioritization decisions. The feature and component owners (technical product managers) will manage their assets: they will capture innovative ideas and requirements, test them using feedback and data, and collaborate with the teams developing the features and components.

The individual must be able to articulate and convey complex concepts to stakeholders within the organization with simplicity and concise language. This management position requires a balance of people leading, technical project management experience, and market knowledge.

 

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

  • 10+ years of experience in product management or leading trading operations
  • 4+ years of experience leading, coaching, or mentoring staff in a leadership role
  • Extensive knowledge of trading, Ops, rebalancing & management in SMA/UMA accounts.
  • Experience with trading, Ops, rebalancing & management in SMA/UMA accounts.
  • Extensive knowledge of managed accounts and the platforms that support them
  • Experience maturing a project management capability, process improvement and maturity, and successfully driving change
  • Knowledge of product development lifecycle frameworks
  • Master's Degree from an accredited university and 8 years equivalent work experience
  • Experience representing the voice of the customer
  • Experience understanding and delivering on ROI
  • Maintaining constant communication with the team
  • Experience making rapid tactical development decisions if they impact functionality or usability
  • Experience validating user stories and scenarios
  • Experience maintaining product backlog
  • Experience monitoring progress and making constant adjustments based on larger strategic objectives

 

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • 4+ years of experience leading, coaching, or mentoring staff in a leadership role
  • Experience in Agile product development and/or Pragmatic Marketing methodologies

Travel required: 20-40%

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  The salary may also be adjusted based on the applicant’s geographic location. Salary range:  $160,000 - $225,000
