Product Owner, Embedded Software (Remote/Flexible)

Position Overview:  


We are looking for a self-motivated Product Owner, Embedded Software, to lead Insulet Agile teams that are responsible for developing new products and improving existing ones. Working in an Agile environment, in collaboration with a cross-functional development and test team, this person will be responsible for refining and executing the product roadmap and ensuring the backlog is properly prioritized and defined for the embedded software teams. 
 
Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for refining the short and mid-term roadmap for the Agile Teams.
  • Ability to generate data driven estimates. 
  • Work with the team and stakeholders to build and manage the product backlog, ensuring everyone is aligned on the vision, goals, and priorities.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to turn customer needs into user stories.
  • Represent the user in key decisions during development.
  • Lead backlog refinement, Sprint planning, and Sprint review meetings. 
  • Ensure completed Stories meet the definition of READY and DONE. 
  • Work with the Scrum Master and cross-functional teams to ensure product delivery. 
  • Ensure product usability and safety.​​ 
  • Monitor quality / velocity metrics to drive squad agile team performance.

Education and Experience: 
Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant work experience or 6+ years of relevant work experience (with 3 years in the medical device domain as a product owner) without a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in Embedded Software development.
  • 2+ years of experience using Agile methodologies and/or SAFe methodology, related to Product Owner role. 
  • Demonstrates clear communication skills with audiences with various levels of technical background. 
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision. 
  • Passion to continuously improve processes and practices. 

Preferred Skills and Competencies:  

  • Experience with diabetes technology products.
  • Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving and sense of urgency.
  • Flexibility in a fast-paced, growing industry.

Physical Requirements (if applicable):  

  • US travel as needed (at least once per quarter)

Additional Information:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $94,125.00 - $141,187.50. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US.
