Position: Product Manager – Lending Optimization
Salary: $110K - $130K/yr d.o.e.
Location: Remote OK (If living within 31 miles of Tustin, CA or Austin, TX will need to be able to work 2 days on-site)
This role is the primary go-to for the products that they lead. Product Managers are key in the evolution of a product and always have the well-being of the product and its users in mind. Develops products by identifying potential products; conducting market research; generating product requirements; determining specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction; developing marketing strategies. Constantly producing great new feature ideas and thinking critically about which of them will make the biggest impact. Know how to measure and interpret the results of your team’s efforts. Love working on teams, side-by-side with the best engineers and designers. Easily manage several efforts at once. Work well under pressure, and don’t miss deadlines. Keep abreast of market and technology innovations and identify how to implement.

Focus will be on Mortgage loan origination process from origination through funding and operation workflows. It is imperative that the person applying for this role has a in depth understanding of the full loan cycle process as they will be responsible for working with operations teams to help streamline workflow processes from origination through funding.
Responsibilities
- Become an authority on your product area. Identify customer needs and business opportunities through a combination of user research, collecting feedback from cross-functional teammates, diving into data, and competitive analysis.
- Create and maintain the product roadmaps, with consideration of efforts, sizing, dependencies, compliance requirements. Etc.
- Understand the underlying Loan Operations business flows and where opportunities exist within the Value Stream.
- Articulate and prioritize user journies, personas, pain points into an executable roadmap of well written features.
- Work with Product Directors, Executives, and key business stakeholders to establish the business vision and drive expectations.
- Define, understand, and improve key funnels, metrics, and KPIs.
- Understand our customers – Create personas, identify, and prioritize pain points and solutions.
- Work closely with Product Owners and Engineering to develop story/feature readiness
- Partner up with support and training and clients and any other business units
- Create and maintain the product roadmap
- Be the owner of the overall Product Strategy for your assigned product(s)
- Ensure stakeholders and business leaders are kept informed through effective engagements and Product Strategy reviews.
- Drive execution against our plan in collaboration with Engineering and Design peers: making trade-offs, anticipating staffing needs, risks, and ensuring frequent and clear communication.
- Help team with removing impediments and blockers where you can aid.
- Take initiative to partner with the training teams to ensure that the details being communicated out in the field fall in line with the details of the feature.
- Play a large role in the release process to ensure a successful release.
- Working hand in hand with scrum masters to ensure team readiness and remove ambiguity regarding stories and features for sprint planning, sizing, sprint completions, demos to business, and meeting release dates.
- Assist in determining product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.
- Ensures that usage and reporting is available while tracking and working towards ROI goals.
- Present new ideas, tools, and resources to improve the product evolution process.
- Takes initiative to respond to all team messages, comments, and emails to ensure that development continues to move forward.
- Work closely with NAF legal team to ensure that our product is continuing to stay compliant.
- Step outside of the comfort zone to learn new skill sets that pertain to our product team needs.
- Maintain a positive and excited attitude so your team feeds off that energy.
- Do not wait to be approached by business, always come to business first.
- Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Expectations are not limited to the above.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3-5 years experience as a Product Manager within digital technology builds.
- Prior experience in Mortgage Operations processes and flows.
- Experience in building products for mortgage operations
- In-depth understanding of the mortgage loan cycle process (origination through funding)
- Experience with RPA/AI/ML is highly preferred
- Strong Communication skills with comfort building relationships and presenting to C level executives.
- Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
