The product team works cross-functionally to help achieve Invitae’s mission. The Laboratory Information Management Software (LIMS) product focus is to ensure our software meets the growing needs of our laboratory operations and stakeholders. We’re looking for an experienced product leader who can take on complex projects where the solution is not clear from the outset. As the primary stakeholder and subject matter expert, you’d be responsible for executing the product vision, communicate and partner across engineering and our users, collaborate with UX, and problem-solve across the organization. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Empathize and develop a deep understanding and relationships across diverse stakeholder groups (engineering, lab automation, customer experience, lab operations, quality, etc.)
  • Anticipate our customer needs, translating them into actionable product requirements and features.
  • Lead and guide cross-functional teams, including developers, automation engineers, and other stakeholders on medium to high complexity projects.
  • Negotiate with stakeholders, balance different interests and make informed trade-offs to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans for programs, including integration of LIMS with other systems, defining features, test cases, and scenarios for testing.
  • Responsible for detailed component testing, such as feature testing based on acceptance criteria defined by the product manager.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
  • Drive and align engineering and stakeholders on the product vision and roadmap.
  • Proactive in identifying, anticipating, and mitigating potential risks throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Regularly update leadership on project status, ensuring transparency and proactively identifying potential blockers and resource constraints before they escalate into issues.

What you bring:

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience driving the design and execution of software products with a strong focus on the user.
  • Academic or professional experiences in Life Sciences and/or regulatory environments (CAP/CLIA, FDA)
  • Ability to translate both science and engineering concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) in a scientific or healthcare setting.
  • Experience and affinity towards mentoring junior product managers.
This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location.
