Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $110,500.00  to $184,100.00.

The pay range provided above is not a guarantee of compensation.  The range reflects the potential base pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual base pay compensation will depend, in part, on factors such as geographic work location and relevant experience and skills.

Position Details:

Grainger offers multiple digital and offline purchasing channels to support each customers need. As the Product Manager, you will lead building the order entry tools utilized daily by 5,000 Customer Service Center and Branch team members. You will play a key role in product strategy, planning, and execution for the product team supporting team member order entry. You will collaborate closely with engineering, architecture, design, and operations to enhance the end-to-end experience for both customer service and branch team members as they place and manage customer orders.

You will work with operational partners on a shared vision for customer success and team member efficiency. You will be an advocate for our customer service team members, their needs, and the needs of our customers they serve. You ask insightful questions about what customers need, and you interpret data to develop meaningful answers. You will make sure the order entry application meets the highest standard for modern web usability, built on modern UI frameworks and microservices. You will ensure the tools integrate smoothly with other systems in our enterprise architecture. And you will ensure every interaction provides valuable intelligence back to the business so we can continuously improve our customer experience and operational excellence.

You will report to Director, Product Management and be based in Chicago or Lake Forest, IL with a hybrid schedule of 2 days per week in the office. We will consider highly qualified candidates who are remote.

You Will:

  • Build an end-to-end understanding of the team member and customer order life cycle
  • Be a passionate advocate for the customer and team member experiences, especially around our ability to efficiently and accurately place orders
  • Define clear success metrics for team members that tie directly to outcomes for customers and Grainger, and use those metrics to drive the roadmap
  • Coordinate technology tools with operational processes to create cohesive team member experiences. 
  • Strive to innovate and deliver best-in-class digital solutions for customer service
  • Drive alignment with operational partners in Customer Service, Branches, Supply Chain, and other business units to create cohesive solutions across all Grainger channels  
  • Create a shared vision with user experience leaders and support applicable change management efforts

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience as a product manager or in a related role.
  • Demonstrated experience in discovery of customer jobs-to-be-done and translating that into frequent delivery of user value
  • Expertise in getting data and using it to make product decisions, and the proven ability to continually find ways to collect and analyze new information
  • Strong preference for working in close partnership with engineering and design to delivery frequent value using agile practices and continuous delivery
  • Track record of close collaboration with operational and business partners leading teams that depend on your software to do their jobs.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, science, mathematics, analytics, data science, or equivalent professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience designing solutions to complex problems and achieving results by conceptualizing, building, or substantially modifying enterprise internal tools.
  • Experience with creating customer service products, business applications supporting the order-to-cash process, or similar experience with enterprise B2B software.
  • Familiarity with modern software development methodologies, frameworks, and systems
